peachtwist: thanks for the blush swatches. i know our skintone is (completely) different, but the swatches next to IF (which i already have) of the other two blushes made it clear that i should phone my counter and have them put aside!

haha that's what the SA said, and she pointed to the promo pic of the Asian girl...and then she was like " well...without the mushroom haircut", and then she blocked the girls hair to show me LOL


I got royal sunset only! I thought honey jasmine look too similar to Nars

So I called my MAC counter at 10 and they only had 3 flamingo's in so I had her hold one! I ended up getting sushi kiss and flamingo only. The blushes were pretty but nothing that stood out for my skin tone. NC30/35 ... Flamingo is gorgeous. I didn't think it'd work on me but the yellow undertone is perfect and makes it super wearable, a nice everyday lipstick. Sushi kiss is a little tricky. It is like a orange version of Betty bright (which I wasn't in love with) so we'll see if this grows on me.

I tried everything on at my counter this morning and only walked away with Flamingo. On my NC45 skin all of the others were a complete and utter fail. IMO lip liners and glosses should be optional. I don't like when I have to "transform" lipsticks because I'm not carrying 3/4 products with me on a regular basis for touch-ups.

In other news, the MAC store in my area sold out in 13 minutes. I was at the Dillard's counter on the Westbank when an artist called in and asked how many Flamingo's they had. The MUA that was helping me told them they had 5. While I was checking out (with my 1 Flamingo), this old lady (like seriously 70) walked in and asked for all the Flamingo's in stock. *sigh* I gave her a serious side-eye.

Old bitty...supplementing her Social Security with MAC lipsticks...smh.

has anyone been able to b2m for these lippies yet? I have sk,ss,rd and hj on hold for pick up today.. I called the store right when it opened up and unlike TR situation where they refused to hold stuff, the girl said it would be np to hav it held for me for today. phew!

now im thinking if I should get TT as well? Im NC37ish/C4 so I don't know if it would go with complexion ..I feel like it sorta looks like the Maybelline vivids Orange, which doesn't look that great on me ..

Hey ATG! The link is in my signature (Chic Coco). Once I figure out how to take decent (non-atrocious) selfies, I'll be posting FOTD's and stuff. I'll probably post my latest BSS finds tonight or tomorrow (yay, summer hours!). I promised myself I'd post a couple of times a week so I need to kick myself back into gear.

I still don't know if I should treat myself to Honey Jasmine and Tangerine Dream yet and my lunch break is coming up soon. I'm getting the Pierre Hardy/Nars Rotonde blush this weekend so I don't know if I need or want HJ. Orange cheeks rock my socks so I'll probably end up with both and walk around looking like this....

Strolled into my local Dillard's just now (it's been raining since at least 5am when I had to drop my baby off for his football mini camp) and ended up getting HJ. I almost got IF but seemed to take a lot to show up on me and then it started to look very powdery. I didn't swatch the other one at all...honestly not sure why. Our store didn't have the display up at all so I had to ask if they even got it in! Ok NOW I should be done with this collection...I'm pretty sure I am lol. And I'm proud to say I fought the urge for bu's

Tangerine Dream definitely looks best on me at night - it's a bit much in bright sunlight. Conversely, Sweet & Sour is really nice for the morning but by the middle of the day, Tart & Trendy, which I liked least when I first tried them all at the store, was really great - stylish without being too overt. I wore the heck out of Flamingo last year (and lost my tube, so I'm happy to get another), but it looked better on me in the summer when I had some color and Razzledazzler, which I skipped last year, is equal to Flamingo on me, or maybe a touch better. Sushi Kiss is just gorgeous, but I haven't worn it yet - tomorrow it's gonna be going ALL DAY!

All these lipsticks are so beautiful and fresh looking - you just need a swipe or two and literally nothing else on your face to look great! Really effortless.

Thanks girl! The only lipglass I have is a dazzleglass, underdressed from TR, Im trying to look for a gloss that is really shiny and glossy, maybe not crazy sparkle like underdressed if that make sense

I'm pretty proud of myself, only ended up with 3 items (I had 6 originially): Royal Sunset and Honey Jasmine blushes, and Sushi Kiss lipstick. I'm still eyeing Tart & Trendy but I'll wait until payday next week and see if it's still kicking around. I feel like everyone will be going for Flamingo and Sushi Kiss over Tart & Trendy so it might be safe to wait for.

Wishing I brought some sort of face brush with me to work today, I really want to put Royal Sunset on, maybe buffed over Honey Jasmine...

I might break down and put a dab of Sushi Kiss for this afternoon, though my lips aren't in the best condition. My coworkers may tease me though.

I do like when MAC puts out small collections like this (might be the odd one out) as I don't feel so overwhelmed. I also feel like the blushes will mix well with the Temperature Rising bronzers.

Thank you so much honybr!! Yes, I lined it with BBQ it didn't take away from the color you know? I tried some orange and coral liners but was satisfied with how it showed here. Gonna try some more. I hope it shows just like this on you as well ;-)
