I agree with this. I understand that some people get them for others, but deep down, we are still ordering more than one and we all know that MAC is very tight with quantities. I wouldn't feel right getting more than one, knowing someone else might be left without the chance!  In an ideal world MAC would make as many as needed or change their ways, but it doesn't seem like they will. From what I've been reading from most of the posts on this thread A LOT of people ordered more than one of each. MAC didn't handle it well but I think it was honourable of them to try and limit to one per person. I don't think we should criticize that if we then go and buy multiples when we know stock is limited. If someone has a friend who needs another one they should order with a different card and address, problem solved.  Deep down we're all guitly of a little greediness!
MAC manufactures the limited quantity panic experience so that customers are conditioned to buy now without even testing items or seeing swatches. Then 2 weeks after a collection magically sells out, there's a restock of their supposed limited stock. If I am guilty of anything, it's of buying into the MAC hype and the thrill of owning an item that's hot... that is, until the next collection comes out in a few weeks. Most of us collectors know it and we play the game anyway for fun. This launch was different in that it's the first time I have seen customers get blamed for MAC's blunders, ranging from poor relationship management (snatching boxes off UPS trucks) to complete system failure (gateway timeouts). To blame a very small group of makeup collectors is to miss the big picture: there were thousands of customers in the waiting room at noon, and MAC's technical errors forced customers to place multiple orders or none at all after 3-4 hrs of waiting, or even purchase the wrong items (RRW kept ending up in my cart). MAC failed to meet its own stated goal of ensuring that each customer got to own something from this collection. The stock was there but customers couldn't get to it through no fault of their own, or the fault of other customers. No, really. If everyone had to log in through 5 devices and slow down the server, that's MAC's fault for failing to predict a great public interest in a five-piece collection as opposed to the one-piece RRW collection. The "leaked link," "greedy collectors," and fairness lectures are flimsy smokescreens for very major corporate failures, IMO. I understand you are trying to be accountable for your own collecting habits, but looking at the big picture, I think blaming any one customer (yourself or others) is not helpful. We need MAC to improve its CS and IT so we can all have better experiences in the future.

Wow. That is a very nice sizeable collection of Revlon lippies. I think I only have like 4 or 5.

I just checked the status of my pending orders, and all but one have been canceled.  These were legit orders, too.  Now I'm pissed!    And I was assured by the CS rep I spoke to yesterday that if I resubmitted my orders to replace the other legit orders that were also canceled (and bring me back to my max limit of 4 separate orders), they would be fine.   I have little hope that this will be fixed, but I'm going to try.
I am sorry that happened to you. I was on the phone with CS on launch day and they assured me that my 2 post-launch orders would be fulfilled. One got cancelled and someone is going to get back to me about why. I hope you keep on them until they give you an answer and a solution.

Also, it should go without saying that the MAC person responsible for deploying the company's resources to retrieve UPS boxes on route for delivery -- reminding me of the Wicked Witch and her flying monkeys --should just resign now. Who the hell do you think you are? Marissa Mayer? Do you really want MAC to win a contest for CRAY? Please do the world a favor and apply your zeal to monitoring Wall Street.

I just got off the phone with a rep and she said the reason for the cancellations was that there was a problem with PayPal credit card payment. Ummm, noooo - I paid using my PayPal balance so it was pretty much a cash transaction. She advised me that if the payments were canceled, that PayPal did so and that I should speak to them. I kept her on the phone while I went into those transactions and PayPal noted that the seller canceled the payment. I hope that will help my case in getting these orders reinstated somehow - I won't hold my breath though.

There's nothing she could do tonight, so I'm going to call in the morning when a supervisor is available. I stayed on the phone while she made the notes of our conversation on those orders so that there was at least a written record the supervisor could reference when I call back.

You two are not alone. I'm not a phone person either. I'm not an only child, but I grew up that way until my younger sister was born. We're 14 years apart. I'm very touchy about my stuff. This may be wrong, but I don't even like my daughter handling my stuff. "What do you want to see, dear? I'll get it for you and show you, but you can't touch it. Just look at it with your eyes. Not your hands."
