I have more of these than any other brush brand. They really are wonderful, especially for the price. I highly recommend them!
Does anyone know if any of the eye brushes are comparable to the MAC 217? I always hear amazing things about the 217, but it's hard for me to spend that much on a brush. It would be nice if one of the RT brushes were close to it.

The buffing brush is amazing and I want it separately. I also have the stippling brush plus a backup, because it is one of the best stippling brushes I have ever tried. I also really like their contour brush. I'm in the minority, but I actually like their big eyeliner brush in the eye kit. It gives a lot of control. Wish they would come out with more brushes.
Unfortunately I don't think there really is one and the starter kit is about $17.99 anywho, which could just be saved towards a 217. I tried looking for one as well before buying a 217 and I didn't see one from RT that is comparable.
The Base Shadow Brush in the Starter Kit is the closest, IMO. That said, I also agree that you're better off spending a little bit more on an actual 217, given the brushes in the kits aren't available individually. Meanwhile, I'm now an owner of the Starter Kit and the Expert Face Brush, and so far, I like. The Deluxe Crease Brush has essentially replaced my Sigma P82 for concealer work. So much softer and easier to work with. I love the Expert Face Brush for contouring. I'm not a massive fan of the Angled Brow Brush, though. I think it's a little too fluffy, if that makes sense?

I ordered them on iHerb as well, they ship to Norway and seem to have a nice selection. I was reading rave reviews on makeupalley so I thought I'd try them out. They do sell some singularly; I bought a couple of the eyeshadow shader brushes since having more shadow brushes is nice to have something clean available. They were 5 dollars each.

FYI: Real Techniques is now carried by Walmart in Canada!! The sets were $18.67 and unfortunately I didn't see any single brushes (powder, blush etc) yet but going to check today. I ordered my first set from iherb also but happy to see them so close to home. Side note: im pretty happy for Sam.. getting picked up by Walmart is huge!!

I agree with you - i found it to be a tad to wide and a tad too long... still easy to work with but i do have other smaller angled brushes with i think can do the job a little easier... or rather with better control.

I have all of the RT brushes that my Ulta stocks. I love them. I use those way more than I use my more expensive brushes. They not only perform well but clean up very nicely. I think for the money you can't go wrong with these brushes!

I just bought the expert face brush, powder brush, blush and setting brush! im so excited! if i like it, maybe i'll get the core collection? im a newbie and i need brushes while i slowly build up my mac collection, thinking maybe sigma too? not sure..any suggestions?
I think the only brush from Sigma I would recommend is the F80. (While I still use the other Sigma brushes I own, I'm not as enamoured by them these days.)

I've seen f80 been hyped up so much, im so curious now..so with my current brushes (mac 107, 266, real tech expert, powder, setting, blush brush, a elf shader brush, random kabuki from sephora, and a dual fibre cheek from etude house), what other brushes do you think I might need? obviously im no makeup artist lol
You'll definitely need an eyeshadow blending brush of some kind. RT's Starter Kit has a couple for that. Another good drugstore brand is Sonia Kashuk (via Target).

I bought mine on iHerb ang hot the 5$ discount... I bought the Core Collection Set, Starter Set (for eyes), Travel Essentials Set, Expert Face Brush and Setting Brush.
I sold 2 brushes that I didn't need: the Pointed Foundation brush from the Core Collection and from the Essential Foundation brush from the Travel Essentials set because I never use those flat foundation brushes and generally don't like them.
So now I have the Expert Face brush, Buffing brush, Multi Task brush, Contour brush, Detailer brush, Setting brush, and the entire Starter set for eyes.
I really like how these brushes look and I think that they make a good value for your money since they are not so expensive and are very durable.
However, I like the face brushes a lot more than the eye brushes. From the eye set I like the Brow brush and the Deluxe Crease brush but find the other brushes far too soft and I think their bristles are not dense enough so they don't do a good job with eye make up - Sigma brushes are far more superior to the RT ones.
