MAC Tropical Taboo Collection (2013)

I just got the postcard for this collection, it's a little booklet. so random. do people still collect these? I remember they used to sell on ebay for $$ but i eventually threw my old stash away

Yeah, I considered it. But I hate sending it back to be destroyed. I knew it was a gamble ordering online, so it's not really anyone's fault but my own that I got what I did. I get a PRO discount but don't have any PRO stores or counters near me, so to get my discount I have no choice but to order online and take the gamble. It's not awful.... so I'll use it. It just isn't as pink as I'd like so I'm not motivated to try it over other things I love right now. I'll get around to it and maybe love it. Thanks for the advice... Trust me... It's gone though my mind. 

I'm in the same boat as far as having to order online if I want to use my discount. All of our MAC stores are in the Atlanta area for the whole state so if you're a pro and live outside of Atl you either have to order online or go on a road trip.

UGH! Poor girl!! Closest one to me is hours away. The money I'd save on my discount would be shadowed by my gas costs! The only time it REALLY bothers me is when there are nude lipsticks (which are so hard to choose without trying on) and mineralized goodies! I'm pretty good at determining what other things will work for me just through experience. But when these Mineralized collections roll around I get soooooo nervous!

I have to drive about an hour and a half (on a good day) to get to one. For the most part it doesn't bother me but like you said when it comes to nudes and mineralized collections are nervous time lol.

I love my 159! I think it's perfect for highlighting. I use it with my S&G and I find that it grabs the right amount of product and is small enough for those areas. I do find that it is too small for blush. Maybe I got big cheeks. Idk lol

funny cuz i havent heard people talk about it either BUT my mua at the counter told me she loved the brush so i snatched it up. she recommended it for highlighting and settin powder under the eyes. i've yet to even take it out the package lol.

I'm really enjoying my goodies from this collection. Must remember to post pics soon! I got Tropica, Rio, Sweet Samba, Narcissus and Midnight Mambo. My Rio is a pretty even mix but Sweet Samba is almost all brown. Both lip products are just beautiful and MM kinda makes up for having missed out on FMP. Thought I might want more shadows but Tropica was the only one that interested me when I swatched. Resisting the urge to go back for Simmer and Adored - they're sooo pretty but I know they'll be too warm on me. Had an evening out with the hubs tonight and it's too hot to wear makeup really but I couldnt bear going completely without, so TT came to the rescue. Wore Rio as a blush topped with just a touch of Sweet Samba on the apples and WoG as extra highlight. Eyes were a wash of Opalesse not quite up to the brow bone, Tropica on the lid, plenty of black mascara. Narcissus gloss. Nothing else except a touch of concealer. Loved how it looked!

Okay, so I did the Heroine l/l, Snob lipstick, &Impassioned lipstick combo today again. Loving this.

I've never been much to combine lip products and stray from using liners (just to save time) but this really makes me want to play around more. Heroine l/l &Snob are a pretty combination on their own without Impassioned. Here are pictures.

Aw, boooo! I'm sorry. Did you miss out both times or just decide to skip it? I'm sure you can find something somewhat similar to fill Heroine's place. Maybe RRB with Impassioned over the top would be similar?

HA HA !! I think I've finally mastered Lust, after a week of trying to make it work for me : I'm really fair with dark hair and Lust did not look good on, too frosty it made me look overdone or like the queen of ice

and made my dark circles pop out not to mention the veins of my eyelids (!). Today I paired it with Supernova (Heavenly Creatures) as a blush as well as a combo of painterly-rubenesque-supernova wet on the lids and it finally looks good and summery yay !!!
