Belle Epoque is turn of the last century, especially Paris - post-Victorian where everything was lighter and brighter, ending at World War 1. Cleaner, simpler lines and colors than Art Nouveau. The musical Gigi is a really good example, also My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn (though that's pretty stylized): I'm definitely excited about a clear blue purple f/l!!
I think something like this would be great on the spring for the pre prom collection. Lots of fluff, feathers and pastels

There are quite a few styles to chose from:
--- that whole "natural" look, for one.
--- the 20s-30s-40s thing that Biba was instrumental in.
--- basic disco and the Diane von Furstenburg wrap/surplice dress.
--- and GLAM! with hot pants, strange knee-hi sox, and platform shoes.

Which one are you allergic to, Wolverina?
You forgot the best look of the 70's - PUNK ROCK!

A lot of punk rock just looked crappy, but there were stars with amazing makeup, like Siouxie... thanks for catching that!

For all the blue lipstick lovers out there. They are still available in Inglot's US online-store.

Yes! Siouxsie, a million times! Lillinah I am allergic to almost all trends/ styles represented in " That 70's Show". So, basically shag and vinyl interiors, burnt orange and vomit tray green, amphetamines ( not Mommys little helper style), Studio 54 excess, super frosty shiny lips and Farrah Fawcett hair, tiny shorts and pulled up knee socks as "sexy" with suspenders! Roller rink culture, excessive decorating with rainbows and happy faces ( I know it bled in from the late 60's) trying to replicate Lurex and wearing Spandex and and all those other "ex's". I cannot stand these things, but then again I have a somewhat austere, genteel decaying Jane Eyre/ Miss Havisham aesthetic so 70's fashion must naturally be my foe The muscle cars are the one exception- Roadrunners all the way!

Clearly I am a child of the seventies because I love all that. Even baby poo green, mustard yellow, and harvest orange. Polyester suits, bell bottoms & zippers up the front of turtle neck sweaters. Disco, Dukes of Hazard and Smokey and the Bandit chic. I do cringe at frosty blue eyeshadow and terra cotta blush. Now fashion from the fifties however is anathema to me!

I am REALLY surprised to see them (I guess..?) first at Douglas

And it is kinda funny that they offer the inlay because they don' t carry any Pro Palettes (and any other inlays)

Now I have a theory, could very well be wrong, that we often find ourselves repelled by the decade we were born in. I have found this to be true with some of my different decade born friends of mine. I love the 70's as they are portrayed in Anchorman and Dark Shadows though, and consistency isn't my strong point.

That would explain why I loathe the 1980s. But I seem to hate the later part of the decade (and early 1990s) more than the earlier part (I was born in 1980)? Maybe it's because a lot of the fashion from that era has come/is coming back (acid wash jeans, pleated trousers, harem pants, printed trousers, big plastic glasses frames), and I can't stand it. :dunno:
