Does anyone know how launches are usually handled at the Houston Rice Village location? My daughter's school is near there so I'm thinking of going to wait after I drop her off. Do they usually let everyone in at open, or do they only allow a certain number? I've never done the stores at launch. I'm usually an online or department store shopper for popular releases.

Question!!!
What do they mean when they say "will hit MAC stores on September 26th and all other stores October 3 through October 31"....?

What store will it hit first? I live in Houston, TX, is it referring to any specific location?

Help

It SHOULD mean that it will be in all MAC stores on the 26th, but won't make it to the department store counters until Oct. 3rd...So, any store listed on the MAC website as an actual MAC store should have the collection tomorrow.

It sucks that they won't put the display and testers up until tomorrow though. I wanted to go test the items out today. Sometimes MAC irritates me with their logistics. Why wouldn't you want to allow people to come in and test stuff out before the launch. Basically you have to just go in the store and buy it and then decide after that, otherwise it may be sold out! This runs the risk of them losing profit by people not liking something and returning it. Also, I hate the "swatches" they put on their website! I think they can afford some better pictures of the colors by now.

Probably because people will want to buy it and they aren't allowed to sell it until a certain date? Some customers have longtime cool MUA's that let them take a peek at stuff in the back but other than that, I don't see testing out items before a launch being an option. I don't even think I'd even want to look at or test the stuff out if I couldn't buy it right then and there. I understand it can give some people an idea of what they want when it does become available though.

Yeah, for me, I'd just rather test it out ahead of time so that I already know exactly what I want to get (and what doesn't work for me). I wouldn't mind not being able to purchase it right then. It would also let me know if it's worth it to battle the lines and get there early. It would suck to wait outside the store for the launch only to find out that the color you thought you wanted doesn't work for your skin tone, or that you don't like the consistency, etc. There's no harm in letting people test items out ahead of time. On a super popular launch, there's no time to test the item out in the store....by the time you get done trying something on it's sold out! It was definitely like that for the fashion sets.

For me, personally, I will just be going in the store soley to try the items on/swatch and ordering online. I'm hoping they don't take the display down once the items are sold out. Usually they leave the stuff out there.

Sometimes MAC is dumb and won't send testers for the really popular items and then on top of that have a very very limited stock.

If I were going to the store tomorrow, the first thing I'd do when entering the store would be to tell the MUA I'd like Nude lippie and Diamonds CCB. While he/she's pulling that, I'm swatching the other stuff. It's enough that I'm always overwhelmed when I go into a MAC store so me going in there ahead of time knowing what I want would make it all that much easier for me. I'll swatch the other stuff and if there's something else I see that I want, I'll add that. If it's something that I like and it's already sold out then I'll just attempt to get it when it's released online or at other counters. If I'm swatching the stuff that they're holding for me that I THOUGHT I wanted and I don't really like it, he/she can put it back in the drawer.

They probably won't take the display down once items are sold out but will instead substitute items of similar shades.

The Galleria location is normally my go-to store, but for some reason I feel like Rice Village may have less foot traffic. I've never been to the Rice Village location during a launch, but any other time I've gone the traffic has been far from crazy. But you never know. I'd call and ask, because different stores may handle launches different ways.

Yeah I would think Galleria would be CRAZY! On the other hand The Village may be a bit more accessible since you don't have to go into the mall. Who knows! I will call and see what they say. Thanks!

I wasn't at all interested in TTT, but then I splurged on some vampy autumn colours last weekend. I wore Dark Side yesterday and I'm wearing Fixed on Drama today, and they look fantastic, so I think I'll definitely have to look at TTT in store. More money gone...

Has anyone tried Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color (Precision Glide Lip Liner) in Plum Wine # 12? It stays on forever and it is so beautiful. Dilliards is having a sale in the main lobby area at my job today (they normally offer payroll deductions and withdraw the funds from paychecks in two increments a month or so later) I absolutely love this deep plum lipliner! It is goodness that last forever with beautiful sheen and excellent color-payoff. I am trying to stay away from the tempting Dior and Chanel goodies. Hopefully I can find another route to go buy lunch! Please check out the EA liner if you get a chance-Plum Wine 12.

My list has dwindled down to:

RRW lipstick
RRW liner
RRW lipglass
Nude lipstick
Still on the fence about Her Cocoa quad. It is undeniably gorgeous, but being someone who loves nudes I have a lot of similar shades already. Then again I could have 200 teals and still buy more so ...

I'm sold! Me and Rihanna are the same or around the same MAC foundation color. And I like the way it looks on her. I'm still indecisive on what other products I'll be getting. Most likely Diamonds, BGGG, HK, TTT l/s, RRW (BU), RRW l/g and Her Cocoa.

I think it would be better for them to let you test at least 2 days before because our store is soo small and it gets sooo hot so fast and its probably going to be an assembly line going in and out of the parks mall cause its just tooo small. I can't imagine anyone stopping in there to test and ask questions cause then its really going to be a madhouse in there.
