I wanted Stares and Speculation before I saw Beautezine's swatch, but I feel like it won't even show on my skin. I bought Deliciously Rich from the Indulge collection and I wasn't very fond of the texture either, too glittery w/out much base color.

Actually, I'd have considered S&S if it were glittery with not much base colour. I really like Feminine Edge and Catch My Eye f/ls from Glamour Daze, which are like that. They work really well along the lower lashline to add just a bit of sparkle to a look without being OTT or overpowering. Especially Feminine Edge

My thoughts exactly. I was able to swatch the whole collection a few weeks ago and decided to skip everything as it did not go too well with my NW15 - 20 complexion. While I could make some of the products work, it's not worth the effort, time or money. There were some lovely collections and products this year that look outstanding on pale NW skin (and I heard through the grapevine that there will be some super duper pale NW collection in the foreseeable future). Divine Nights is really better suited for NC complexions. Hence my absence of posts in this thread as I will buy nada. NC guys and girls, enjoy this collection! Happy hauling!
Danka shoen mien lieben, for your always relevant and most desired recommendation, as it confirms my initial reservation to skip. I am very tempted by the lovely lavenderesque Lavish Living but if you say its isn't worth the bother, I know I can count on that! I really want some of the sets and those c/s/g my goodness, not a mediocre one in the bunch. Plus, with the price point, I have a feeling I can get LL MSF later and they won't sell out too quick if I get that dreaded skipper's remorse.

I can't skip the cute little tasty balms because they remind me of the mini tasties of about 7 or 8 years ago and I am nostalgic. Plus, I waited for the VG lipstick so I could get a set with gloss and that cute bag. AND, I can't skip the chance to get that VV lipstick either. I am not helping, huh? Call me enabler princess, and get me my tiara and sceptre!!!
Hmm no. You're not helping one bit!

That said, I can safely skip the VG bag because I know I won't use the gloss (the bag's cute though) and the set with Dark Deed as I already have it (it still has the Vanilla smell, albeit not very strong, so I can't justify another one). The lip balm thingies are trickier - on the one hand I want them, on the other hand I'm annoyed because they're not MLBs.

I was mostly quibbling over the piggie sets but now that I saw Liba's posts in the Punk Couture thread I have no choice but to kick them off my list and save up for Punk Couture. Those lippies!!!

Thank you so much for your thoughts Liba and MAC-Guy! I think that I am probably going to skip this collection and maybe wait it out until it hits a CCO or maybe look it over at a counter the next time I'm there. Punk Couture is going to be getting ALL my monies so I'm being kinda selective. lol

Now that is the cutest thing I've read in a long time.

I still want the balm set as well, but I'm waiting for reviews.

Thanks so much Liba for your reviews! They are so helpful and give great insight into this collection. I think I will for sure order PP and PFP lippies online. I told myself no more reds because I hardly wear them, but PFP sounds beautiful and bright. The swatches of it are amazing. Everything else I'm going to wait and swatch in store. I'm hoping Lavish Living will work for me, but honestly, the less I haul from this collection, the better. Need to save up for Punk Couture!

Thanks so much for the info, Liba! I was going to go crazy on this collection but I'm NW15- and you've helped me reconsider! Money saved, though I may get some Christmas presents for my NC30 friend :)

While my list was very small, I am beginning to wonder if I should just skip. I am N2/NW 15. I worked hard to get this pale and I don't like the bronze look. I did play around with STBS and loved it but I only swatched on my hand. I know I will still pick up Orpheus and Raven (love these and buy a BU every time they are repromoted). I might get You've Got it lipstick and CSG and call it a day.

I'm at the mall and gonna check if the MAC store has these for display in the back. I'll update you ladies soon! Hopefully I can get us some swatches. :)

Meh. I'll leave the set then. I can get the tweezers any time. My ancient Ruby&Millie brow/lash comb is metal! Well, the lash comb side is. Elf & Safety was clearly not high on the priority list  Here's a pic I found, from an old eBay listing:

The SK travel one is metal too. Eff safety! I want gorgeous separated lashes damnit!

I understand that this really is an NC collection ...well something tells me that (although I am an NW) I think I will get everything that's pink from this collection.

STBS is very different than the other 2 MSFs - just like Lust was really frosty compared to Rio and Adored. Sorry I've been so busy and haven't been able to discuss the other ones yet - they have their own unique issues, but they are definitely not the same finish and the main color is much more of a satin effect without sparkles.

It might be pretty strong. I DO think Lavish Living would be awesome and the other MSFs would be great. I bet you could get STBS to work too - you're NC right? You'd have to really like a bronzer effect and sparkle 'n frost etc. though!

Actually this is something I want to get around to saying when talking about Center of Attention and the MES, in particular: If you are NC and are sallow or olive skinned, with some redness in the cheeks or deeper pigmentation around the eyes, this collection is MADE for you. I'm in this camp and I was in hog heaven, because all those gold shadows are usually colors that look hideous on me and the MES here, each one looked more fabulous on me than the next. Same with the blushes and MSFs. I was thrilled. NW folks aren't going to be rolling around like a pig in the pigpen to the same degree, but hey - money saved, right? You NW folks will have lots of options coming up in the Extra Dimension collection and beyond!
That was not even the collection that I had in mind for an excessive NW splurge, hehehe.

But yes, totally $$$ saved with Divine Night.

Think it's only Private Party and You've got it lipsticks for me! And want the eye set with the Blackened Plum f/l and a brush set. Maybe the Viva Glam bag, I just don't know if I want that color. How does everyone like it? I'm scared it's to brown.
