I did call MAC CS today and asked nicely about the situation with the PRO discount confusion. I spoke w a lovely woman named Janet. She explained that there is a memo across the board that there's NO PRO DISCOUNT. However, she did acknowledge the mistake with that PRO email that said we get our discount. So, as a one-time order courtesy, she said I could place an order and get credited for my discount. But it's only a 1 time thing. Any future orders will not get the discount. So I did place an order. I didn't splurge as much as I wanted to, because I'm still uncertain about all the products. PP is already sold out, so I missed out on that. May still grab it and pay full price, as it looks gorgeous in these new swatches!
So, if you're a PRO member... put everything you want in your MAC cart and then call customer service. They will access your account through their system and then send your order # directly to get your discount credited. Make positively certain you get everything you HAVE TO HAVE in this first order you place.... cause that's your one chance!
I'm disappointed it was such a confusing launch AGAIN but have to give MAC huge props for how they handled it this time. They didn't try to place blame elsewhere. They extended the discount to a one-time order for the miscommunication. Overall, I appreciate the way I was treated.
I have never considered my PRO discount something I am owed. I consider it a privilege. A privilege I worked for and pay for. I have NO problem paying full price for items I want. And have done so MANY MANY times. I just thought MAC held back on that info with this collection and it made things difficult with a collection where we typically get our discount. I don't EXPECT a discount. But I would like clear communication so I can plan accordingly. I just wanted to clear that up too.
