I've had the worst luck with these blushes.... there's a film on the blush that never seems to go away... i have scratched the hell out of my flaming chic one and the film keeps forming  :(
It's because of the embossing. If it didn't have the embossed design on it, it wouldn't happen. I know exactly what you're talking about and annoys the crap out of me too!
Random question, but I have been eyeing the split fiber brushes for a while and have been wondering what effect is achieved by them compared to the whole synthetic or whole natural hair brushes, could you explain?
Synthetic brushes give more colour payoff, and natural brushes give a softer colour payoff. The benefit of this brush is having two in one. Rather than having to use 2 different brushes, just flip the brush over instead of dirtying 2 brushes. That's all it is.

Ok, the 128 is smaller and more dense than say, the 129. You can certainly apply powder blushes with both of these, but I don't really like using the 128 for this simply because I prefer the way longer bristles of the 129. The 129 fans out and gives a nice wash of color, where the shortness of the hairs in the 128 make a smaller section of more concentrated color. If that makes sense? But, the same reason I don't like it for powder, I do like it for cream blushes. For me, it's much easier to blend out a cream blush with the short dense fibers of the 128. I also like it for the Extra Dimension Skin Finishes. The duo fiber brushes like the 187 and 188 give a very lovely soft wash of color, and that's great with a skin finish that's a bit darker, but the 128 allows me to get a slightly heavier application of something like whisper of guilt, and I can blend it out nicely. I don't have any of the ED blushes, but If they apply like the Skin finishes and the eye shadows, I bet the 128 would be a dream with those a well.

Here is a picture of the 128 and my 129se side by side (the 128 is still a bit damp from it's bath but you get an idea of the size difference.)
I agree about powders because it can pick up too much but it is workable. IF you can only get one blush brush I think this is the most versatile. I use it with powder to just dab the center of the brush (where both parts meet) and then apply it rather than using the side of the brush.

It's a bit rustier than Apres Chic, which at least on me, goes on pretty red. I think the orange undertone in this one may come out on some people. With a red lip pencil underneath, it ought to be easy to control the rust factor, if you need.

I use both sides too. I sort of pick up product slightly on the natural side and then blend using both sides, but I don't treat is as two separate brushes. I love it, I'm considering getting a second one.

I think I'll get a brush. These are the half and half brush two different colors on each side? I've always thought they were pretty lol. I love my 129 brush I doubt anything could take its place

Lately I've bought two-three items per collection... now I'm interested in:

Fairly Precious skinfinish (maybe)
At dusk blush (for sure)
Autoerotique blush
Pleasure model blush (maybe)
Carnal Instinct lipstick (maybe.. which finish has this?)
Sensual Sparks lipstick (maybe)
A natural flirt eyeshadow

It's physical OR Our secret fluidline

Of course I must see swatches.. but from color description all this stuff seems interesting for me!

This might become really exp for me. Im not getting the eyshadows but the blushes and skinfinishes are fair game. Not sure bout the lippies yet. I wasnt in MAC when superb came out, will it work on my skintone?

I think Superb should work for you. I'm around a NC30-35 and I looooveeee it. I use it a lot, trust me. I just gives a very nice summery glow to the skin IMO.

Those of you w/ deeper skin tones that already own At Dusk, how do you guys like it? I didn't follow the last collection it was in but I remember watching a few YT reviews on the blushes last Spring and some said there was not much color payoff...
