I can! But it all depends on what/how you're eating. If it's a burgur/sandwich, no way, no how! If it's with a fork, as long as it's not greasy and my lips don't touch the fork, i can easily keep my lipstick on no problem!
Are you sure they are really eating and drinking?! Because just yesterday I put my new FOF retro matte lipstick to test and not even it was completely succesful!
I used to eat with my lipstick on all the time, with a fork. Nowadays I take it off or wait until I'm home to eat. I just can't be delicate when I eat. I'm like a caveman.

I take off (or at least heavily blot) my lipstick or gloss before I eat, but because the idea of swallowing all those chemicals and dyes really grosses me out. I know I'm already putting them all over my face and mouth anyways, but the idea of eating lipstick just crosses the line for me. Heck, I'm the gal who cured myself of a lifetime fingernail biting habit by getting regular manicures - nail polish in my mouth? No way!

Subverted is my favorite of the four too, but they're all just so amazing. The frost finish they have is spectacular - it makes your lips look so moist and full and dimensional, which is so important with such dark colors.
I was relieved to hear that the black will be matte, rather than retro matte for the reasons you're saying. I do really like the retro matte formula that's been busting out all over, but I've got to think through the right blush and eye makeup when I wear them, or just go really simple and only wear the lipsticks on their own with nothing else. If MAC does a Punk Couture style collection next year, but gives everything that Nudes & Metallics frost, I am going to be going ten times more bananas than I already am over this one!
