MAC Fashion Sets 2013 Collection (April 2013)

I was never able to get it to work, either. I think it's the only lipstick I have that I've never worn out the house. It makes me look like a clown. It's just too neon and matte and not good. It's weird because Party Parrot works, and it's just a little bit pinker. I'll give it to my bestie and call it a day.

You know, I skipped Embrace Me because I usually HATE blue-based pinks on me, but it looked really great on everyone and I semi-regretted skipping. Was it just like Pink Pigeon and Candy Yum Yum on you or darker? I want a bright pink that isn't neon or Barbie looking, but not as dark as Girl About Town. Maybe that new RiRi one will be a winner.

I am hoping for that or it to be close enough to Embrace Me I can finally get over the skipper remorse.

Funny thing is I don't have either cyy or pp but embrace me on me is is a hot pink with what looks like a tad bit purple in it on my lips its bright but I only apply a little but is not ablaze bright its wearable I love it.i to skipped it at first then kept seeing swatches and I was like omg that color is so beautiful was kicking myself for getting ablaze and not embrace me.found it and I have been loving it since.

I also was going to skip embrace me because I thought it would be the same as all my hot pinks. The day of launch the Mua was like "are you sure? It's really beautiful and we only have 2 left " so you know that's all it took for me to be like ok ill take one. When I tried it on and compared it to all my other pinks I was upset I didn't get the 2nd one cuz its my favorite pink like it better then cyy pp pp and show orchid. They all are in the same family but EM does have purple in it that makes it a kinda magenta and not so much a hot pink IMO and it's not neon like cyy. Am I the only one who loves ablaze? It's like a dark neon bright coral it's really hard to describe but I love it and wore it all summer!!

Ablaze was my original favorite, but after all this time EM is my favorite of this year's Fashion Sets too! It's so wearable and beautiful!

I gotta say my favorite was actually Embrace Me as well, I bought all of them including 2 b/u to heroine and I ended up exchanging one of them for Strong Woman. I gotta say that Heroine appears much deeper on fair skin girls than it does on me. I'm saving my other b/u in case I ever find someone that's willing to exchange it for Prince noir :/

I wasn't that crazy about the lippies from this collection. They all were very pretty but they didn't look right on me. I ended selling Ablaze & Embrace Me & I still have Heroine & BNIB back up. I prefer Strong Woman over Heroine so I hardly ever wear it. I do love the Heroine lipliner, it makes every purple lippie I have look even better. That I wished I would've gotten BUs for. I maybe open to swap my Heroine lippies if anybody has Petals & Peacocks, Gladiola, Queen's Sin or Prince Noir. ETA: Right now I'm only interested in swapping for the lipsticks I have listed. I'm not selling.

It was as popular all at least I think so, it was sold out everywhere, online and in stores. ordstrom cancelled many orders, even restock orders. I clearly remember because I was one of them, but a kind member here on specktra did a cp for me from overseas. I think the purple craze was in the beginning stages.

I started loving purple after the first Lavender Whip release in 2008. That was the first time I realized how flattering purple lipstick could be. After that, every time MAC released a purple lippie, and I had the funds, I would get it; Purple Rite, Go For It, So This Season etc.. I did miss a few though, during my MAC "break" and I would love to get Playtime someday.

I am the same way. Now I guess you just reawakened my lemming for Purple Rite, so will be hunting this down and not sure if I have seen So This Season...I have slowly hunted down all purple MAC lippies I can find though. They keep making ones that are just a little different than what we have seen before, even if the only difference is the finish, which makes me feel I have to get them ALL.

Oh it sold out like gangbusters around here, that's for sure. Reel Sexy was the underdog in my area. What a great collection!

Anyhow, I'm wearing my Ablaze today, because I've got a pair of jeans that's pretty much the same color. It looks more red than anything else on me, even without liner, especially at this time of year. It's gotten a lot of love from me this year. I'd say I prefer it over Toxic Tale (and I looooooooove Toxic Tale) and it's easier to wear day or night all year round for me than Party Parrot, which works better at nighttime.
