Mac Pro Palettes discussion

I can't do this double sided palette anymore. I've tried different magnets, and dividers and there's always a few casualties- shadows popping out when I open the palettes out. They fall out and one fell on the floor. I'll find some other use for it. Off to grab some single palettes tomorrow. Thank goodness I only invested in one.
I haven't had anything fall out with the actual MAC inserts but if I try to go without the inserts then yeah...not the best.

Here's my issue with the new palettes. Every time I get a new shadow and have to re-arrange my palette, I have a b*tch of a time getting the pans out and often end up digging a small chunk out of them.

Is there some special trick I don't know about to get them out? I usually push on the side where the space is underneath but some of the shadows are so damn stubborn. I know I could just put them in random order but I like my shadows organized in a certain way.

I've mentioned it many times already. Twist the palette like it's an ice cube tray.

Yeah, you need the inserts.
:agree: this is what i mentioned from the very beginning!
I have the inserts. By dividers i meant inserts. And the ones that are falling out are MAC pans with their own magnets. Just doesn't work for me. I'm going to use one side of it to store my stainless steel palettes and spatulas. It's been repurposed.

Yup, it works a treat for the large palettes and, to a certain extent, the quad. But for the life of me I can't get the insert out of the duo one :eek:hboy:
Not sure why you've had such a problem....if anything the MAC items with their own magnets are the only items that don't fall out of my palettes with or without an insert. It's the items that I have to attach a magnet to that I have to worry about (if they aren't in the insert). At least you found a way to use it. Also never had an issue using the ice cube method on the doubles either. :shrugs:

By duo I mean the small one that carries two e/s (http://www.maccosmetics.com/product...Palette/Pro-Palette-Eye-Shadow-x-2/index.tmpl). I can't get the palette to bend enough so that the insert pops out.

I haven't got the large double. I really like the look of it, but not being able to see the contents without opening the palette defeats the purpose for me.

I wish I knew why too. I'm starting to prefer the clear lids too. So the switch works for me.

Oh ok...assumed you were referring to the double palettes

Not that I'm the hugest fans of these palettes...I'm not lol. But once they did the price drop it's hard to justify making the switch for my kit from the MAC palettes in general when I can get these at such a great price plus pro discount. I have a love/hate relationship with the double palette...it's not my friend the way that I wanted to use it (without inserts to eliminate the need for as many palettes) but with the inserts I haven't has any issues. The singles are fine (with inserts also) BUT) I feel like I'm carrying a ton of them with me in my kit sometimes. Not a huge problem but something I wish I could consolidate a bit better sometimes. I've gone labeler happy so I'm good with or without the clear lid (I like it though). But I digress

Do we know for sure if they will have the larger sized inserts (dividers) for large eyeshadows?  If so, I will actually buy some!
I think, because they have started selling the pro Longwear shadows in pan form, they must be doing inserts for them. Otherwise, what's the point?

Pretty sure they will. If I'm not mistaken Erine already confirmed this info, but I'm sure if MAC is officially making refill pans for something they will be providing the inserts for those refills. Otherwise that would make refills seem a little odd lol

Would be nice if the inserts would show up tonight before the free shipping code expires lol. MAC decided to throw us a bone since everything they've been releasing is not eligible for pro discount lately. I just needed my wipes and a couple of blush inserts but would have loved to grab some pro shadow pan inserts if they were finally up. :sigh:
