Karen at Makeup and Beauty Blog appears to have had no big problems with Hautecore.
http://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/mac-makeup/mac-hautecore-friday/

She says: "...it is pretty dark, but I wouldn’t call it true black. On me, I see a deep, blackened purple.
I also expected it to be a flat matte, but I see a hint of shine.
It’s still neat, though. I definitely like how smooth it is, and it’s not as patchy as other black lipsticks I’ve tried."

So i'm not deciding negatively until i actually try it myself. It will probably work just fine on me, as have other lipsticks called "patchy".
WOW!!! Her swatches look awesome!!! Looks like @Medgal07 and I can wear this out the house after all!

We're family, the holidays are coming, so someone is going to say soemthing that starts some shizz and we have a knock down drag out and everybody start to cry or scream or throw food. Then we get over it, we all do a group hug and mow down some turkey.

I will refrain from my ideas on the code thing since we are letting the past be the past.

Now we're back on topic, is there a true black lipstick out there similar to what we think Hautecore will look like, that has a good matte finish, doesn't dry the shizznit out of the lips and doesn't cost more than $40? I am open to ANY brand, indie, dept. store or Kameapart blue light special section???
I haven't tried it (yet) but I heard Illamasqua Pristine is a good matte black.

I'm laughing with you. I believe I need to be in a padded cell and a straight jacket along with you. Maybe most of us on this site need this as well. No will power when it comes to makeup.

I guess that means when we all ultimately need a support group, we shouldn't turn to each other

I ordered one each of the lippies from Nordies just as backup incase for some reason I miss the online release or can't get my hands on them.. I did it for peace of mind. I was already planning on backing up a few of them so this made it easier. I'll buy the black CSG and other items when it hits MAC.
