Yes, it is a nice true black 
It is very comfortable to wear, and doesn't give me shrively lips like Midnight Media (it's closest match). It's also a cooler base, where MM is a bit more red based.
I love it, and will honestly say this is a great black.

Love Hautecore!!!! and it is an actual matte black lipstick and not drying. I would show a pic with it actually on me, but this weather is killing my lips lol.

I can't wait to see everyone wearing this lippie! I need face shots to determine if I like it or not. Hand swatches are nice but I need to see it on the lips to determine getting it or not. :sigh:

Hautecore looks gorgeous on you, TaiBthere is no hint of purple or any color coming through, it really is black, and the formula is so non drying i had to double check it was a matte cos it had a little shine to it

I tried mine on... its def not a true black on me its a dark dark deep purple.. to make it black I have to put on a lot! But when i put on a little its like a deep purple gray...The texture is nice also..But overall I'm happy with it just waitin on my liner now [@]Addict4MAC [/@] did u get ur liner yet?
