Hey, everybody!! (newbie here - LOL!) I received my Hautecore this afternoon, and at first I'm going to be real honest and say I didn't like it (but that was on its own). However, since then, I have I have been mixing it with other l/s, and I gotta say it has won my heart over! My fav combo so far is HC + Riri Woo!Amaze-balls!

Thank you, Erine!Both releases are a matte finish.Thank you!The bottom of mine says it's matte. I am kinda confused about the PC one too though and am torn on if I need it in RM if it is for sure does come out in a different finish.

Not really plum, more like a dark, dark, dark purple eggplant. I got it to look black after applying 3 coats.

Maybe it is picking up the red in your lips? I'm thinking it might be the same as black hair colour, where some of the base is red toned which is why sometimes when your black starts to fade it can look kinda reddish. I could and probably am wrong but it's just a thought as to why it may look anything but black in the first swipe or two.

Just recieved it! One swipe of this black and it is a true black color. Love love it.

You are exactly right. That is what is happening. Because when I apply 3 coats it is black. Although applying so much has led to it ending up on my teeth which is annoying, and surprising since mattes usually never do that. So I will just do the Hautecore Remix like everyone else!

Grey Friday isn't all that. You could easily get the look by mixing a really light colored frost with any black lipstick. Estee Lauder did something similar last year that was a bit sheerer, called Gunmetal, that was handier than GF, which was a bit too opaque to layer over - all you could do with it was mix it, rather than layer it.
I still think Firm Form is so much more beautiful than GF. I can't wait to try Hautecore in person to see if it topples Firm Form as my favorite black, but no matter how nice it is, I'm not sure it can win over Firm Form. The only thing that maybe could is if MAC would do an amazing metallic frost like Dominate in a pure black - now that would get my legs trembling a little bit!
