This collection was nuts. I got thru with my first order in 5 mins. My friends asked me to make an order for her - got in a second time, but when I went to check out…PB and BGRR were sold out.

I was under the impression that you could only order 1 of each item, so I was surprised to see that people were able to order backups. I don't have anything against backups as I have some myself, but I do feel bad that some people were unable to get anything they wanted. On the bright side, other online retailers and physical MAC stores and counters will have the collection soon so the opportunity will be available again for those who missed out. However, I do understand the frustration and am saddened to see the collection up on eBay so fast with crazy prices.

The site went live at 11:57am for me (on Mac Canada, but from what I can gather it was the same for Mac US). I was sitting on the site from about 11:30am and started refreshing around 11:50am.

Ok, I shouldn't eat chips while posting lol I was trying to say a blessing happened. I had my support rep at work call for me also (don't judge me) and he heard the welcome to mac/Estee Lauder msg. Turns out his friend's gf is an Estee chemist, so now I have an order for my Bus the with her for when employees can purchase next week. I'm so happy, she has a yearly cap of what she can buy so I'm not being greedy, otherwise I'd totally have got more for myself and some of you ladies who missed out. You've all been so informative and I enjoy the community. If she's able to snag more, I'll make a post! It's great news, but in the end still ridic we're having to go through all kinds of alternative and indirect routes!!

I saw this coming. Because of the mess with ALL of these collections I am going to need for her to go somewhere and sit down. But I am sure she is laughing all the way to the bank. I never wanted these items because I am a fan (I am indifferent to her) but because I like the items.

I decided to call and complain about this, found out there was 75 PB for Canada from the phone sales girl. then I talked to some guy at a different extension(who could not speak clearly at all. arg.) Basically told him that stuff selling out that fast was ridiculous and basically asked if they did it on purpose to say they sold out in x number of minutes and that it makes people not want to deal with them at all. Then I brought up the arbitrage it causes(the demand exceeds the amount supplied and allows people to sell for massively inflated prices on ebay, much like ticket scalping). He told me I could go to a department store. I told him so I have to go an hour or so before they open to get one of the 3 they might have for sale. :headbang: good luck! Sometimes talking to people is infuriating... more infuriating than that waiting room.

Smh @ MAC CS. Yes, I can go to a department store... And drop my money at the Tom Ford counter.

I'm really surprised RiRi Woo sold out so fast. Wasn't it available for a while with the previous collections minus the very first launch?

my coworkers cart was full in one of the windows and when i tried to add another pleasure bomb it told me i couldnt

I'm guessing they flew through their online inventory since it seems they didn't limit the quantities to 1 per piece per order this collection. I'm guessing all the resellers were there ready to pounce and got the max quantity allowed (4). I think limiting it to 1 in the past helped things last longer. But now everyone and their mother knows how popular these RiRi collections are! Making it nearly impossible for true makeup and MAC lovers to get their stuff.
And I find it really cute that when a few Specktras were able to use a link to access a past RiRi collection early, THAT was a HUGE deal and they cancelled orders and everything! But it's ok for MAC to launch several minutes early... which is all it takes for professional resellers to get the edge.
Just to prove a point, I won't get anything from this collection now. Not in store. And not during any restocks. MAC knows we'll all start scampering for their items, that's how they get away with this! And I can make a prediction already that the in store launches will be low quantity and a hot mess! This is how they are pumping us all up for RiRi's viva glam campaign. I won't let them win this one. I'm not buying from this collection now no matter what.
I'll get the RiRi viva glam lippie if I like it and it's easily accessible since it's for a good cause. The End.

For curiosity's sake, I tried to order two of the same item in one order and got automatically blocked from doing that with a message on the Mac limit policy for this collection. You had to keep logging back in to make separate orders if you wanted to.

I DID call MAC CS & let them know what I thought about the Riri no product gimmick

The first lady put me through to an upper management lady that was EXTREMELY nice to me

Got the usual 'we'll send your comments on to corporate' thing. I said they did that last time & it did NO good because MAC went ahead & did the same old quantity/waiting room crap again. I said you need to tell corporate that they are disrespectful to their own consumer base.

Anyhow....both the lady that answered the phone & the management lady confessed to me that they both tried to order & couldn't get through/get what they wanted. Amusing to me

I blame MAC, the frenzy they cause makes ppl have to have them even more. I really didn't want to be so pessimistic towards them, but come on! It shouldn't be to this extreme, too much negative customer experiences...and yet they win bc its guaranteed to sell despite boycotts etc

are you in the U.S. If so U.S. orders always get free standard shipping. Im pretty lucky to be near one of the places they ship items from ( at least per ones) and my orders usually arrive in 2 days with the standard shipping.
