MAC Punk Couture Collection (December 26, 2013)

I wore my Black Knight this evening, I forgot how much I liked it.. I also came across my first MAC lippie "Pink Aura."

SW did indeed come out on 12/26, but as I recall, all the lippies in that release along with the nudes that included Hot Chocolate were released a few days before online. Wondering if that will be true again this time around. Tonight would be a good time for an online release, MAC you hear that?

Thank you for this!!  I think that more than anything else, this made me want to pull out my SW lippie.  It's been hibernating for too long!! Still tempted to get Instigator, but I feel it's more easily duped than PC... Thoughts, anyone??

Lol me too! I like instigator. Probably has a dupe out there but I strictly buy mac so for me it's the only one lol

Part of wearing these intense dark colors is, well, attitude
And also, where can you wear it, some may not be work safe...

I am old, i am unfashionable, I just let my long wavy hair hang down, and i rarely do a whole face of makeup.
I do not worry. I am excited to wear these lipsticks. I wear them to the cafes where i hang out. I wear them to the supermarket. I wear them out to dinner.
I do touch up any discolored areas on my face, put on some powder (MAC MSFN or NARS Light Reflecting), and definitely do my eyes with light shimmer e/s on the lid, strong liner, and mascara.

I do not wear standard reds, bright pinks, or oranges, yet lots of people love these colors. I think i look silly in them.
So if these colors make you uncomfortable, then they probably aren't for you.

This is why there are so many different colors and finishes. Some we don't look good in, some we don't like. We get to choose which ones suit us - and some of that is attitude
We may actually look good in something, but we don't believe it, or we are insecure or unsure and afraid to wear it.
We may actually not look good in something, but we love it - or it's fashionable, or our friends have it - so we wear it.

As i think we can see, the people who are posting pictures of themselves wearing these lipsticks look amazing!

The colors in this collection are not for everybody, and i'd say some are for only a limited number of people. That is OK. Nobody has to like everything.

Excellently said. I had big trouble understanding in the past why women would choose not to wear colors they looked good in, kept hearing, "Well YOU can pull that off". If you don't feel confident and secure then its hard to enjoy a color and if you're not ready for it then diving head first can just end up being a headache. Especially if you're unfortunate to encounter any rude people who will give you looks or say something, its all about coming to whatever you want in your own time and way.

Yes confidence is key! I live in a beach town where not a lot of make up is usually worn. So if I rock a beat face I definitely get a side eye look

Amen, sister. I'm really looking forward to these, because I feel comfortable in them despite being pale-skinned, but the softer pinks and corals that should work on my complexion tend to make me feel washed out. It's all about what makes you feel confident.

Never heard of it, may look into that!! I just mean, they bring out so many lip pencils and shades to match... So why not a classic black lip pencil? I think it's something people would buy all of the time!! I have many friends who line any deep lip colour with a black eyeliner even, so why not make a lip pencil permanent in black?? You know?? 

I think when style black came out they showed ebony eye pencil with one of the black lipsticks...but as to whether its actually lip safe I don't know!

That Arabian Night lipstick looks richer that I should get that instead of PC.  How does the quality stack up?  Like Milani, MAC, or Lime Crime?

I love Arabian Night (Coloured Raine) as I love my Melt lippies!

I'm not really bothered with the smell of coloured raine lippies. What bothers me the most is the tacky packaging. Everytime I swipe them over my lips i'm afraid of breaking my tube of lipstick. But that doesn't stop me from loving them! I have every colors! Minus the crazy ones.. (Blue, yellow, gray, green, black, if you know what I mean. )
