Isn't the Chromagraphic Pencil in Black Black lip safe? Would that help you?

Never heard of it, may look into that!! I just mean, they bring out so many lip pencils and shades to match... So why not a classic black lip pencil? I think it's something people would buy all of the time!! I have many friends who line any deep lip colour with a black eyeliner even, so why not make a lip pencil permanent in black?? You know??

And has Mac made a black lip pencil?? I've not heard of one... which is odd considering they have made every other shade haha!!

I still swear by Just My Type l/p, which is a super dark cool brown. So much less stark than a straight black pencil, but it won't be detectable under Hautecore. Personally, I think the texture of Hautecore is so nice, it's easy to get a crisp edge that stays put, even without a pencil, plus it doesn't slide off the center of the lower lip if you apply plenty to the underside of your upper lip. I think I'll be more inclined to use a little concealer on a lip brush to define the edges rather than a pencil, if I want a perfect look that isn't too harsh.

If you love SW, you're probably going to like PC. You'll definitely love Instigator. SW is less red and more purple than Instigator. PC is much purpler, but you might be happy with it. Just go look at it in person. Also, rather than returning it, there will for sure be Specktra ladies that couldn't get one that you could sell it to. If you return it, it just goes in the trash.

Lol. Are you on a no buy or joining on the low buy? I can only hope to pull off a purple like this some day! I expressed my dislike of Violetta in myself last night & I already said this so I apologize to anyone who has read this. I have all the recent purples that MAC has released. Granted I've yet to wear Strong Woman or Seductive Intent & I hate, repeat hate the way Private Party looks on me. Don't get me weong, i looove bold lips & i get that i can't over do my other features if I'm going to sport a purple lippie. However, I find purple very hard to pull off. I want PC because it could be 'the one'...Initially I loved Heroine & Spitfire but then I wore them & just no. I'm NC20, does anyone else in this range have the same feelings towards purples? If so, what purples work best for you? Thank you in advance.

Im nc 15 and have a very hard time wearing purple lippies it looks too garish or weird on me idk.... Im hoping ill be able to pull instigator off but pc is a no no for me I think. I have magenta hair right now so burgandy or plums look good on me with my super pale skin. And as for black lipstick even when I was goth I never wore that lol

You can return it, but only to the same kind of place you bought it from. So if you order online, you can't return in store. You would have to mail it back. But if you buy it in the store, then you can return it there. Keep in mind that MAC stores have stricter return policies than MAC counters within department stores, generally speaking.

SW isn't permanent, sadly. It was part of the Strength collection last year...which, now that I think about it, I realize also came out on 12/26.

I just checked Coloured Raine's website (they make Arabian Night), and Plum Fairy looks really close to Instigator.

It's a gorgeous color, but the taste is awful. I can't say how it stacks up to Milani or Lime Crime as I haven't tried them, but it's definitely not on the same level as MAC. The smell is also kind of chemically. But the color is nice so if you can get past that, then go for it. I prefer PC for the wear though.

Punk Couture is NOTHING like Violetta.

Punk Couture is matte Violetta has iridescent shimmer.
Punk Couture is blue violet Violette is purple, that is, it is red-violet

I have Coloured Raine Plum Fairy- based on the swatches so far it looks Super similar to Instigator...and I think the quality is great- very opaque, matte. I just smelled it and it smells a bit like cherry maybe? It's not a strong smell and once it's on the lips, I can't even feel the smell. Hmmm, now debating if I should order Arabian Night and just skip all the PC release craziness

Part of wearing these intense dark colors is, well, attitude
And also, where can you wear it, some may not be work safe...

I am old, i am unfashionable, I just let my long wavy hair hang down, and i rarely do a whole face of makeup.
I do not worry. I am excited to wear these lipsticks. I wear them to the cafes where i hang out. I wear them to the supermarket. I wear them out to dinner.
I do touch up any discolored areas on my face, put on some powder (MAC MSFN or NARS Light Reflecting), and definitely do my eyes with light shimmer e/s on the lid, strong liner, and mascara.

I do not wear standard reds, bright pinks, or oranges, yet lots of people love these colors. I think i look silly in them.
So if these colors make you uncomfortable, then they probably aren't for you.

This is why there are so many different colors and finishes. Some we don't look good in, some we don't like. We get to choose which ones suit us - and some of that is attitude
We may actually look good in something, but we don't believe it, or we are insecure or unsure and afraid to wear it.
We may actually not look good in something, but we love it - or it's fashionable, or our friends have it - so we wear it.

As i think we can see, the people who are posting pictures of themselves wearing these lipsticks look amazing!

The colors in this collection are not for everybody, and i'd say some are for only a limited number of people. That is OK. Nobody has to like everything.

Thanks for the info. I shall wait and f5 for PC to pop up online. Smell and taste are my deal breakers. Cannot stand the cloying sweet smell of Estée Lauder, so anything smelly I'll pass.
