I'm pressed for these lipsticks, though and so it's my burden. It would be a nice Christmas gift if it popped up a bit earlier than R Holiday.

I just don't want to have to buy a black lip pencil in case I don't like Hautecore.  The NYX one is kind of cheap, right?  I got some other black eyeliners from MAC like Smolder and Engraved.  Wonder if they would work...

They have two black lipliners, both very inexpensive. The regular pencil (Black Berry) is around $3.50 USD; the retractable one (Black Lips) is a dollar more. At Ulta, NYX is currently BOGO 1/2 off; you could get both and see which one you prefer.
