MAC Magnetic Nude Collection (December 26, 2013)

I was thinking of maybe getting a lipstick or two from this collection, but I am somewhat torn. I love the look of Morning Rose, but T said it can be a bit drying. I don't like my lips being dry ... ever. It would be just as annoying as a shoe that slowly eats your sock ... or better yet .... having wet underwear and wet socks with squishy wet sneakers after you get off a water ride at an amusement park. I thought I had best clarify how the wet underwear thing comes into play!

Anyways, I digress. I really do love the color of Morning Rose, but it is seeming to get some mixed reviews. I also thought about maybe picking up either Close Contact or Sensual Sparks. In some pics they look really beautiful, but in some other pics they look like they settle into lip lines really bad. Does anyone out there have any advice? I do usually like a pink/peach or nude lip color best with some translucency, followed by a smokey eye (to balance a bold purple eye frame). My lips are full (thanks to Juvaderm), but I don't have a ton of pigment, so I usually have to line and fill my lips with a nude liner to define, then follow it with a soft, creamy, buttery lip color.

Also considering FP and Autoerotique for a little flush to the cheeks. What do you guys think? I am an NC37.

Thanks so much for your input on the FP and Autoerotique. May I ask what if any lip color I should add to my lip wardrobe? My lipsticks fall into of pinks, nudes and some peachy tones. I usually mix about two lip colors with maybe two or three lipglasses to get it right where I want it to be ... plus it's a lot of fun. Oh, I also plan on maybe getting Out For Passion and maybe Love Beam (?) from the Huggables Collection.

From these collections or in general? In gerneral I'd suggest some corals, like Melt's Summer, or MAC's Smile, Coral Bliss, Wonderstruck, Nymphette, etc. I tend to wear the same colours (minus the pinks, unless they're bold) in the lighter range. But then there are the bolder colours! Are you a bold lip person?

Depending in where it's shipping from/to, it's either because of the weather or because UPS was overloaded with holiday deliveries. The national news said tonight that even packages that were guaranteed with xmas eve delivery may not be delivered tonight. They were just too overloaded with packages, and some areas were hit with major winter storms.

The real winners for me in this collection are Silver Dawn and Carnal Instincts.

Silver Dawn is absolutely gorgeous! I think it could be the best eyeshadow I've gotten this year. I don't backup e/s in general (except for MAC Jaunty which I love) but I am thinking about backing this one up.

Carnal Instinct is beautiful to look at in the tube. I can feel it slowly melting my frozen feelings for frost lipsticks. This might just be the first step for me to accept the emerging frost trend and hopefully learn to love Viva Glam RiRi.

Well, I used to have and do a lot of really bright pinks and really bright corals. I also had some pale peach colors that were just too milky for me. I have a lot of lipglasses that I use to help bring a color just to that sweet spot. Some of my all-time favorites are: Pink Lemonade, Flash of Flash, Florabundance, Cultured, Prrr, Love Nectar, Oyster Girl, Social Light, Deliciously Demure, Liquid Passion, Underdressed Lipglass, etc. I do have Nymphette. I love it! It is also one of my favorites. I usually stick to light or mid-tone colors. I feel I look best and feel most comfortable in soft to mid-tone colors. I used to really love peach lipsticks, but I really have to be careful with the tone (Sushi Kiss, for example, looked hideous on me) or it really ends up biting me in the butt, it ends up, IMHO, looking weird. It just looks kind of off. That is why I tend to like my lippies to be leaning more pink than peach or a nice nude with a kick of color so I don't end up looking washed out.

I will throw in a picture of myself so you can see what I am referring to.







This bold color I actually like. For the life of me, I wish I could remember what color combo it was!

This picture right here is a perfect example of why I don't like my lips to be too peachy. Yuck!

BTW, I ended up taking pictures of different looks to see what did and didn't work. For some odd reason, looking at a photograph instead of just looking in the mirror, always seemed to help me choose what looks to keep and what to get rid off!

I do love a bold lip on everyone else, but I guess I feel a little more self-conscious. My teeth are not as pearly white as when I was younger, so a bright, bold lip can bring more attention to the fact that they aren't as pearly white as they used to be.


I am thinking about picking up either a lipstick and/or a lipglass from the Magnetic Nude Collection, but I simply cannot decide.
