Ladies, if you like Smoke and Diamonds, my favorite of all time, you'll love Silver Dawn eyeshadow. Though not an exact dupe, it's pretty close. My S&D shattered and is now more of a loose powder that I use sparingly and refuse to give up, Silver Dawn is a great alternative. And they have the same initials so there's that. :yahoo:
This makes me soo happy! I haven't been able to swatch the collection yet, but I ordered SD once Liba had also mentioned how close it is to Smoke & Diamonds. I'm almost finished with my first Smoke & Diamonds and recently scored a reasonable priced BU of it from eBay. I can't live without that eye shadow and I can't wait to get SIlver Dawn!

Ooh OK so the shadows are ok wet, just not the other. Thanks. :) Also, is there a reason the others shouldn't be used on the eye area?
The EDSFs and EDBs haven't been tested as eye or lip safe. Some peeps on here have worn the EDSFs on the eyes with no problems, but many have worn them on the eyes with a lot of irritation and itching. But as far as safety goes, they have yet to be tested as safe for those areas. I'm sure it's the ingredients used to make the products that makes them not safe for eye/lip use.

Count me in for FP. I've been playing with it and At Dusk. I wish I hadn't skipped the ED collection before. I've been looking at Sweet Heat and Silver dawn. Now I'm more tempted.
Get Silver Dawn! You won't regret it if you like taupe colors.

I ordered Pleasure Model and close contact lipstick... my haul is kind of small after all the christmas shoping hehehehe, I haven’t received the items yet but kind of scared with CC, I hope it looks good on me!

It is very similar to MR. It is warmer, pinker and lacks the shimmer but still darn close.
Thank you for this. Even though I've decided to skip the entire collection, all of those swatches are really seductive and make me itch, but since I've already got Haute Altitude I don't neet Morning Rose. HA is enough for me.

Thanks for explaining this.. I honestly was going to ask you this exact question but hadn't gotten around to it yet.. I see people on youtube do it, but of course -- most of the "gurus" are NOT actual MUAs.. You definitely want to be careful with your eyes because they're so important.. but anyway ... thanks for this post!

WOW SS looks so nice on you I really like how it looks but mine doesn't look like that when I apply it. I just don't get why...I'm thinking to get a lipglass to cut down the powedery donut look it gives me. I believe I'm a nw45 and it just doesn't look nice without any work
Yea I'm NW 45/47 and its very light on my lips but it is pretty with steel kiss on top

I placed an order on Close Contact l/s and cannot wait to get it. I have Amorous Alloy and Platinum Love EDES sitting in my cart now. I also cannot wait to get Morning Rose l/s, Pleasure Model ED Blush, Autoerotique ED Blush, Magnetic Appeal EDSF and Fairly Precious EDSF.

I have Sweet Heat and I'm now remembering that the MUA told me I could use it as a highlighter as well. The colours do look very close. I understand that we're not supposed to use the EDSF in the eye area, but what about using the EDES on the cheek area?

My husband bought me Superb for my birthday (he liked it on me), but I hope the texture is different enough from SH that it's actually worth owning both.

Perfect example IMO is PLW shadows and blush.

Switch for EDS please MAC.
I hate the PLW blushes, but the shadows are everything!!! Uninterrupted is my HG, CAN NOT live without, and Mauveless, Careless (hello cheek highlight!!!), Bloom On, Sunny Outlook, Always Sunny, Hot Paprika... OMG i love them!
I have all of those too --- thanks to erine -- and I love, love, love them. The colours, the texture, the way they blend.

And that's the problem. The put out a lot of information that is incorrect, and so many people take that incorrect info and use it, not knowing that it's wrong. They figure that these are similar to MSFs and those are eye safe, so these must be too, when in fact, they aren't. Hell, even MAC artists don't know this, and it's written in b&w right in the update book.

Yes, you can use EDES on the cheeks.

Erine, you're right because it was a MAC artist who told me that EDSF's are eye safe. And she's been working for MAC almost 20 years. Smh
