Phew, I was away from the 28th onwards and came back to 1500 posts! Took all day but I have read through all of it. Kudos to you guys for making these lipsticks so wearable, even the black ones. And thanks for posting tips on eye makeup/ blush pairings as well.

I'm finding Instigator kind of patchy on me, even with P&P. I need a heavy application for it to be even and I'd like to be able to apply it more lightly as well since it's dark. Is anyone else having trouble with it? I'll need to play with it some more to decide if it's a deal breaker for me or not. I don't generally have problems with lippies and my lips are not dry. What I do like is a thin coat of Caliente over Instigator; it's enough to even out the colour and isn't quite as sparkly as a full freight application of Caliente on its own.
I mixed Instigator with Caliente as well! Did this lip for NYE and was pretty satisfied with it.

After I took this pic, I Layered Instigator just a tad more for a darker look.

Question for those of you who have Fixed on Drama and Prince noir would you say these two are similar ? Like if you have one can you do without the other? I really want to get Prince noir but the price is way to high on ebay.
Prince Noir is my all time FAVORITE lipstick!!!

It's very different than FOD. Besides the finish, it is waaaaaayyyyy deeper than ... PN pulls more berry/aubergine than FOD (which is more of a red). MAC really needs to repromote Prince Noir so I can back it up

I hope you don't think that gal is wearing L'Oreal?
I agree just because she has an endorsement deal doesn't mean she's restricted to just that brand. Her makeup artist probably use's whatever they like to create her looks. She's a huge star I doubt L'oreal is gonna end a mutually beneficial endorsement deal because she wore another brands lipstick.

She also has H&M money but I bet she's got some $1000 bathing suits as well so that's neither here nor there lol.....
LMAOOOO yea she's forever wearing TopShop! Besides those commercials I don't think I've ever seen her photographed in her line from H&M out in public.

I don't believe she wears Loreal exclusively. What are they gonna do? Watch her every move? Mylah Morales does Rhiannas makeup and she uses a mix of products. Cover Girl endorses Queen Latifah and her MUA Sam Fine also uses several other products on her. Not just Cover Girl. I see Loreal already has some fooled. They can't use that stuff as performers. It would not hold up. But I digress
I agree Lmao!!!

I think there's a difference between a celeb saying they only use a certain product and that they use a product. In beyonce loreal commercial it doesn't seem like she's saying she only uses loreal just that she uses loreal. I hope that makes sense

HEADS UP LADIES! I know some of you asked how to be able to apply some of these lipsticks without them being patchy. I recommended C.G. Bigelow's 2X Mentha Supreme.

However, I totally forgot about Satin Lipmix. You can mix it with any other Lipmix of any Matte/RM lipstick. It's meant to give the lipstick a satin finish but I would imagine if you applied a small amount, you will still maintain the matte look you want while still achieving good color payoff with less patchiness...

The only time she is required under contract to actually wear L'Oreal is when she is working for them. Public appearances that are sponsored by them, commercials, promo events that are exclusively intended for the promotion and advertisement of L'Oreal and/or their involvement in an event. If her video or album was being sponsored by them then yes, she would be expected to use their makeup but otherwise they have no say in it.
Oh, okay. Good to know.

Thanks for the suggestion - I've never tried a lipmix but I'll keep them in mind for future purchases. I sent back Instigator today because it's so patchy that it has to be a dud. I don't think everyone's is like this or there'd be a lot more complaints in the thread.
