Exactly my point! If you have a heart shaped faced, you're not gonna want to contour your jawline. If you have a triangular face, you don't want to contour your temples. If you have a short face, avoid the the chin and forehead. But I've yet to see a YT person do anything beside the Kim K contour, and that's all i get asked to do when i do makeup (when i worked at MAC, when i do weddings, photoshoots, etc.). It's crazy!
I'm not a fan of the Kim K. contouring most of the time. It often seems like too much contouring and highlighting is done and I thought contouring and highlighting shouldn't be noticable. I find it hard to tell what kind of face shape I have. Erine would you be able to tell me? So far the only contouring I do is the hollows of my cheeks and I do it lightly.

I don't do much contouring or highlighting.

I would like to try more highlighting -- erin any product suggestions for a Face and Body C1. Maybe a CCB, I`ve never tried one of those.

Its terribly bitchy of me but there's one 'guru' I watch specifically because she does the MOST and a half. Its amazing. I'm always wincing by the end of her videos praying folks don't take her tips to heart, but Lord its amazing to watch the show, lol.

In terms of product my fave that I've been using for years is actually Too Faced Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer, just by the name its supposed to be a bronzer but I've found the two tones work so nicely on WOC. Instead of being warm or reddish they lean tan and gold. I myself use the paler shade during the winter and the golden shade during summer. Both shades are pigmented with very little shim shim shimma (perfect description, lol) so that its just that perfect hint of highlighting rather than "Shine bright like a diamond!" Hope this helps!
Mmmhm, sitting here wondering if this "guru's" channel starts w/ Tyme and ends with TheInfamous...

Erine, do i have a round face? Thats my guess if i have to, when i contour, i usually do hollows of cheek and jawline, should i change that?

I do too I'm from Montgomery Alabama and everytime it snow like this im like
I am originally from NE Tennessee but after being in the desert for 7 years I dread coming to the midwest. I hate humidity and any sort of precipitation now. I think even east Tennessee is getting less than we have here now. I am dreading tomorrow when the high is supposed to be like 2 or 3.

Ladies - fast question - Silver Dawn or It' Physical? What is worth more? Only one thing! ;)
If you can only get one I'd say its physical because Patina is said to be somewhat similar to Silver Dawn and the fluidline is more unique imho. I think eyeshadow is easier to dupe.

Honestly, for me, Youtubers talk to much. Especially during reviews... just show me the swatches.. I don't care about your day or your random ramblings. There is a tech ytber that I love. He is quick, to the point, and very succinct. I wish all youtubers were like him. . and with "tutorials" I can't really "see" the technique. How to actually use the brush. This was more important for me when I was starting out. I couldn't figure out how to hold or work with brushes.
I look at tutorials now for color combo ideas. (I wish we did that more here). I like to see how ppl are wearing their makeup.

But I agree, there are a lot of pretty youtubers who don't need makeup at all... but I get that it is fun.. I honestly don't have patience to watch most of them though. Longer than 10 minutes? I'm not sitting through that...
I'm starting to love this y'tuber --she does absolutely no words at all. Just swatches! It's wonderful. I just watched her Huggable video and ordered 2 more. She has one for Magnetic Nude too...

Her lighting is good too--you can actually see the colors really well. I tried some other reviewers where the indoor lighting was straight-up yellow. You can't tell the colors in yellow lighting!

Totally this. Sometimes I'll do a search for a review, pick the shortest one and watch that. I don't have TIME to sit through your 20 minute review of So and So Palette. Get to the point already!

I highly enjoyed "Gurus" videos. For me that is WAAAYYYY too much makeup, but hey, if that is how she wants to present herself to the world, I'm all for doing whatever makes you happy as long as you're not hurting anyone else. I just wish she'd trim those lashes to better fit her eye shape.

I do wish though, that those who watch hers or any other of these guru's on youtube had access to some of the more established MUA's in the industry as well. Unfortunately their content isn't really free, and youtube is, so that's where we are with that. It's a sad affair.

I just got my Magnetic Nude goodies. I got FP, MA and 2x Close Contact. I've finally found a nude that doesn't wash me out! CC is a couple shades darker than Creme d'Nude and that one didn't look good on me because it was too light. Other 'nudes' I do like are more brown and I really wanted a true nude so I'm very happy and excited! I didn't look like Viva Glam Gaga 2 on me. I didn't take that with me but from memory it's more yellow and brown. CC had the right amount of pink in it to compliment my skin very well.
Oooh, nice haul!

How are you planning on using MA?
