MAC Early Buzz - News for Upcoming Collections in 2014

I am so psyched for some info.

After yesterday's nightmare of trying to get home, it took me 5 hours due to the snow (and it really wasn't that bad imho, we've had it worse here in NYC), I was about to cry. Left work at 4pm, got home at 9pm. Not cool. Got frost bite and now I have the sniffles.

Decided to stay home from work and do some laundry and read my Specktra stuff. That makes me happy. I hope for everyone else within the tri state you guys/gals were able to get home safe and sound.

I'm in NYC too...glad you got home safely and hope you feel better

Took my mom 5 hours to get to work as well my 1/2 hour ride turned into a 2 hour ordeal!

As far as the lipsticks, I think I'll be skipping, too. I may end up picking up one, if it's really unique, but I already have Pleasurebomb and Party Parrot to keep me satisfied. The names are adorable, though.

I'm also wondering how close some of these will be to other colours.
Red Balloon - Hot Fuchsia (possibly close to Pleasurebomb or Girl About Town?)
Happy Go-Lucky - Hot Pink (maybe close to Candy Yum Yum?)
Toying Around - Hot Coral Pink (possible Party Parrotesque?)

I find there is frequently a difference between drug store lipsticks and lip glosses and the "high priced spread". And not just the difference between $8 and $16.

-- While d/s brands use opacifiers, better brands use more pigment, so better pay-off with glosses and lipsticks
-- I find that d/s lipsticks tend to wear off my lips way more quickly than MAC.
-- And some of the d/s brands of gloss i bought were like tinted mucus. Really revolting.
-- Not to mention the disgusting fruity and candy scents they have. Yuck. MAC's vanilla is around my limit. And if they're flavored, they are not going on my lips.

I have bought a few truly high end lipsticks and so far they haven't been remarkably better than MAC, at least not enough to justify the price for similar colors.

As far as eye shadows, i find the d/s colors are, again, less saturated than MAC and they wear off more quickly. And the really cheeeeep stuff - like Wet 'n' Wild - makes my eyes burn. I was so excited to score some W'n'W palettes on sale - and then i wore them, twice, never again, the pain is not worth the special effect.

Yeah, none of the descriptions sound unique. I'm surprised they're putting out another frosty red, with Viva Glam RiRi. I know there are only so many colors that MAC can make, but how many hot pinks could we possibly need?

i thought the same thing reading the descriptions liiiiiike...those sound like something i already have!! **le sigh** i mean if u get any hotter than candy yum yum you'll dmn near be walkin round wit highlighter lips n glowing in the dark

yup!! this low buying thing aint so bad after all...im missing out oooooon not a dmn thing lol. but i'll enjoy seein swatches but this will be a pass for me too!!

Exactly. A hot pink AND a bright pink? I have one hot pink, one or two bright pinks and a coral pink, all of which I barely reach for so I'm kinda sad about this colour story. I was hoping for some real bright and unique colours. Who knows though, maybe (hopefully) MAC will surprise us and make these something really special.

I have heard that Impassioned is very close to it and MUFE #37.

a navy lipstick would be hot but i dnt think they'll venture off into that n leave it to indie brands. i would be HELLA surprised if they took the plunge into a daring color like that esp since they havent done it since that peacock line n even that was a gloss (prolly to be on the safe side)

YES! A navy, dark green etc would be great! I like CYY, but I have to REALLY be in the mood for something bright (especially that stinking bright) on my lips or I just think I look a big ol' hot mess. lol

That's exactly why I haven't gotten any Melt lipsticks yet, their crazy shipping. I wanted to get 1 to try out at first but was turned off at the thought of paying $26 for something I might not even like. I think when they restock though that I'm finally going to bite the bullet and get DGAF and Blow.

Play land sounds exciting I so want to see a swatch of that lippie .... Red balloon , sweet experience, and a running in between happy go lucky and sweet experience ..... I'm not a frost fan but love red lipstick will need to see what hearts in cloud will look like ... I'm super excited to see these colors
