I know the new lip glow in coral is a sephora exclusive but is it limited edition too? I bought it and I love it and was interested in getting one as a gift but it' sold out online and in my stores. Did anyone hear anything?

It is limited edition, I was going to get it from Sephora, buy yes it is sold out and they are not going to re-stock as evident from the absence of "in stock email notification" button (it is also described as limited on dior.com and it's sold out there as well:(. Maybe to call Sephora and ask them to check the stores? I've seen dozens at my Sephora last w/e.

Yeah I bought mine last weekend and they had a lot but they are sold out now and the SA wasn't sure if they would get them back in. If I can't find it I'll just get her the pink one instead but I really like the coral :/ Thank you :)

Dior is going to either replace the nail polish line or make a new one.

http://www.nailderella.com/2014/02/dior-vernis-couture-effet-gel.html

"Known" Shades (or better, what I can recognise)

108 MUGUET -> 108 Ivory, another light pink and an essential
306 TRIANON -> 306 Gris Trianon, another light grey and a nude
413 GRÈGE (no image) -> 413 Grège (a light brown - taupe thing)
537 RIVIERA (no image) -> 537 Riviera (a strong coral)
659 LUCKY (no image) -> 659 Lucky (a strong pink-red)
853 MASSAÏ (no image) -> 853 Massai Red (a pink-red)
970 NUIT 1947 -> 970 Nuit 1947 (a very dark red)
999 ROUGE 999 -> 999 Rouge (red)

You can check the old ones here.

New Shades

338 MIRAGE (purple)
403 PALAIS ROYAL (taupe) (1)
494 JUNON (blue-grey) (2)
551 AVENTURE (bright coral)
575 WONDERLAND (bright pink) (3)
661 BONHEUR (pink) (4)
754 PANDORE (red)
769 FRONT ROW (neon pink metallic)
803 MÉTAL MONTAIGNE (Dark grey metallic) (5)
(1) The old "taupe" was 223 Trench, which was relatively popular when it came out. I compared the promotional material images, 403 is purple-ish and 223 is browner. Take notice that the old promotional image for red 999 is much vivid than the newer one, so the colours may not be the same as the ones depicted.

(2) A grey blue. Another shade similar in concept is an old one, Bond Street, but the promotional images differ a lot in brightness (Bond Street is much darker). A pity, because I wanted Bond Street again :(.
(3) Described as a bubblegum pink. An old nail polish which was described this way was 355 Pink Bow.
(4) Bonheur = Happiness. Considering this is with other two from the Rouge Dior collection (Rouge 999 and Nuit 1947) and it supposedly was a mark of classic colours, it may be close or the same as 653 Darling, especially because their descriptions speak of the pink colour as essential for the woman. However, who knows really.
(5) A metallic dark grey. 807 NY57th was a similar concept and their promotional images almost match.

Unknown Shades

155 TRA-LA-LA (1)
268 RUBAN (2)
758 VICTOIRE
918 HYPNOTIQUE (4)

(1) 155 Tutu is a light pink. 108 is a much lighter pink in comparison. It was a reasonable popular colour back in the day.
(2) Ruban = Ribbon / Bow. An old nail polish which was named similarly was 355 Pink Bow.
(4) Hypnotique is also the name of a Diorshow Fusion Mono, a purple-taupe glitter. This is a mostly irrelevant observation, since Aventure is also one of these, yet the colours are very different (the eyeshadow is a dark grey glitter that was launched for fall yet the nail polish is coral and speaks of sunny days).

Thanks very much for this information!

I believe Dior did this again a couple of years ago (like 4-5 years ago?). At the time they slightly changed the packaging (slightly smaller) and their brush (larger and flatter). They also kept some of the shades and renamed them but the numbers were the same (which caused some confusion). Dior also renames polishes and release some with different names on two collections. For example #658 Capeline for Summer Mix and #658 Pasteque for Cruise Collection, both released in 2013. By following this example, I am almost sure that #155 Tra-la-la and #155 Tutu should be the same. Also numbers of Dior are a little different than Chanel (Chanel's depending on collection, Dior's depending mostly on color). So I think Bonheur and Dahling are different shades but they should be close in color. For example Capeline #658 and Lucky #659 are also very close...

Thank you very much for posting this! I couldn't be happier! I have never got used to their present nail polish line. They are ridiculously thick, and the pointed brush is a nightmare. The pictures show that at least they have improved the brush.

I too am concerned about the brush. I LOVE the paddle shape of it. I don't mind if it is more rounded on edges/corners what not but I liked how flat it was and the width was just perfect. I will probably pick up pandora and see how the brush compares but honestly Dior brushes were the best out there. Well L'oreal uses the same brush being from same parent company {I think Loreal owns Dior not the other way around} but I don't' typically buy L'oreal polish

Try Lancome nail polishes it's the same kind of a brush, very similar to Dior.

Loreal does not own Dior

Trying a new brand is a nightmare for me. I don't have any clues about previous collections, about their formula and brush, or about their policies.

Previous collections... I'll just end sallivating over products that have already been discontinued and that go too high on ebay. This is one of the reasons why I quit Chanel for the most part and never cared much about MAC. It's just a disappointment I didn't want to have. Dior, I've been with it since 2011 and I have most of what I've wanted. The heartache is very little and the only regrets I have is not buying backup bottles of certain colours.

Their formula and brush... I'd have to learn what works and what doesn't. I already know how to get an optimum wear with Dior nail polish, how to fix mistakes and how to fix minor chips and tipwear. I also love how efficient the top coats are. I am so proficient with the brush, I rarely need to clean up after applying. To get used to new things will be annoying, because don't like to be hassled much about makeup nor to lose that much time applying it. I understand others like to do so, but I don't like that, and to me it's just a waste of time.

Then there's their polices. For example, I stopped getting Chanel outside of the bare minimum because they didn't bring their Christmas exclusive last year. I understand asian / american exclusives, online exclusives, and even certain boutique exclusives. However I could not accept Chanel brought their collection only to 'certain' european countries and not mine. Dior never did this in my country, as far as I'm aware. The least said about MAC's policies the better. I am genuinely happy custommer for Dior, I've rarely had any complaints. I don't care for 'exclusives'. They are cattering to me, not the other way around.

I already own a few other brands of nail polish, but it was only Dior that I 'collected' because I it just worked so well for me. Everything about it was perfect. I understand this rant may sound odd to many, but these are the reasons why I love Dior makeup and it rarely disappointed me. This change on the np brush is a real hassle and to go look for another brand is a headache for me, outside of the puntual 'oh nice colour, *takes home*', will bring me unnecessary drama.

The silver lining is that I have a few old brushes from bottles I already finished. I am SO glad I kept them, because it's very likely I can switch, if the new brush doesn't work for me..

thank you Monsy. I do love Lancome nail polish as well. And Lancome is owned by Loreal. I think it is why I ventured into YSL polishes as well since it too is owned by Loreal. Meanwhile I stopped using most Body Shop things since Loreal took it over. I am such a weirdo

anyway thank you for the correction. I have noticed I have a preference for the brush and since I love Dior's brush and it is similar I got it confused with other brands with same brush type as being one of Loreal's companies.

I HATE Chanel's brush and am really hesitant to buy their polish now because of the wear and brush. It is sad to say because I have so many of them but have been spoiled from venturing out to other brands and realizing it is no big deal. I don't even like OPI's wider Pro-Brush which is odd. I need to go look at my brushes and figure out what it is that I like about them

ah that will be a chore… not! Off to play with nail polish
