Wow, last time I bought MSFN they were 25$. I don`t think I`ll ever buy one again because they are mineralized so they break me up and they are not good for photos, but Mac looses my money everywhere, I used to buy every month now 2-3 times a year mostly some good perm stuff (paintpot, chromagraphic pencils, 1-2 pigments here & there)
Does anyone know if Mac will repromote sometime soon Clear gloss creme brilliance? Can`t seem to find it anywhere.

MSFN not good for photos? I use em for photos all the time-weddings, professional photoshoots, everything! I haven't had a single problem with them. They're actually great for HD film work. And the clear gloss is a pro product now.

Well after lot of research of list ingredients ( mineralized products contain ingredients that give flashback, they act differently on film than with flash photography) and many MUA artists, with lots of experience, opinions, I decided to not include mineralized products in my kit. I love Kevin James Bennet group, there are so many artists there with years & years of experience which they share freely

Interesting. Not once have i had a flashback issue. Must be different minerals i guess lol. :dunno:

My main reason for not buying mineralized products is "bismouth oxychloride". Plus this powder, MSFN, always oxidize on me, gets darker during the day ( it contains iron oxides)
"Bismuth oxychloride is considered a skin irritant and can cause itching and rashes and in large amounts it can cause cystic acne as well – it's one of the ingredients you should try to avoid if you have acne or rosacea or sensitive skin"
"Why does it cause break outs?
Bismuth oxychloride has a unique, cube like (for lack of a better word) crystalline structure. One of the corners of that cube can scrape, poke and thus irritate your skin. It also can get stuck in pores. And we all know, clogged pores can result in break outs."
I am skin prone, i gave up mineralized products but the msf`s, and guess what? now I only have acne on my cheeks...it`s killing me cause I really love them but i`ll give them up, I`m almost 35 and my skin takes longer to get rid of acnescars

Plus mineralized items contain quite a few light reflecting ingredients like mica, silica, titanium dioxide combined with zinc oxide will give you white flashback for sure

But it's the size of those particles that determine whether there's flashback, not the fact that it contains it alone. Which is how the misconception of "SPF causes flashback" still circulates. The fact that a product contains SPF (mostly titanium dioxide and zinc oxide in cosmetics) doesn't mean it will automatically flashback. This is 100% false. Example: SFF and MM (i use both in my kits) contain TD (and have SPF), as does SF (but no SPF). SFF and MM dont give flashback, SF does. This applies to mineral makeup as well. It's all about size! Now I haven't used a different mineral brand other than MAC, so I can't attest to those, but i can tell you, from years of using it (since it came out), that MSFN doesn't have flashback. But your sensitivity to BO is reason enough to no use em. It seems that BO sensitivity is on the rise.

Yes, true SPF does not necessarily mean flashback, but companies don`t list the quantity of each ingredient but only a list, why take risks than? And a professional photograph will know how to work the camera....but most people don`t, and they get flashback, I mostly do bridal and parties ( music videos here & there) so I want the best results with any camera. My foundation of choice are : Graftobian, RCMA, Cinema Secrets, FACE atelier ultra foundation & Temptu Sb and I swear by them, lol. And as a light reflecting powder (cause it can give the flawless appearance) I`ll use the diamond powder ( no flashback ingredients there). I only have 3 years of experience as a paid mua and probably my opinions will change over the years but for now I go with the safe side :)

It will be interesting to see both Cheeky Bronze and Global Glow with what will presumably be the newer MSF formula we've been seeing? I'm just glad I don't have any old MSFs. The change in the packaging alone would drive me bonkers Lack of continuity, organizational purposes, and whatnot.

does anyone even use those tiny mirrors inside compact? I never do.
I only use the mirror in my blot powder compact. That's the only powder product I have ever carried with me.

I have a sensitive skin but I don't think I have problems with MSF(N). It's like my skin does not really react to chemical things but physical, like rubbing, and sun/wind/temperature.

A mirror with MSFN is useless for me. I'm running low on my MSFN, so I'm trying to snag an old one before the new packaging comes!

Exactly!

It's a wise idea to stock up as the price will definitely change.

Wasn't there going to be a brow collection soon? I think this might be from that (my translate isn't working) http://blog.naver.com/soboru87?Redirect=Log&logNo=100208706080&from=section

Do you think that is because people are now more aware of what is in their products? I'm pretty sure I have BO sensitivity (seems so wrong to call it that. we all have BO sensitivity don't we?

I got to peek at the new MSF packaging today. It's in the newer mineralize form packaging with the magnetic closure - like this because the closures on my MSFN always break on me. It's supposed to be sturdier in case you drop it too. The MSFN will be the same thing but with a mirror and an applicator.

I got 2 backups of MSFN since the price is going up $2. Not sure how I feel about this whole thing yet.. apparently a ton of people wanted it with a mirror and applicator. I always apply mine at home with a brush so it's just excess packaging/$ to me personally. Also $37 for a powder also sounds waaay higher than $35 mentally lol.

Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it. Personally, I can say that I have to tread more carefully when trying out makeup products because I have sensitive skin, and I think that bismouth oxychloride might actually be the cause of some break outs I've been having recently while using mineral products.

I never break out normally, so that's likely the case since I've been using new base products.

Oh that price increase. Will have to turn back to Select Sheer/Pressed or try Studio Care blend, I guess. Broaden my powder horizon :)
