Dior Cosmetics Discussion

Lol, and despite all of this I want more blushes
sigh.gif

Lol...enjoy your coral/orange kick - I can dabble in those shades but they are in the minority! But they are very pretty when you find the right ones! I would safely recommend Happy Cherry too - I think it would be a universal shade.

The Dior gel ones chip on me and peel - but I do wash my hair every night and run the conditioner through it with my fingers, and dish washing doesn't help. Even so, 2 days is about the maximum they last on me before looking all messed up. I have actually worn lighter shades lately like Chanel Rose Moire and Peche Nacree as I cannot stand the sight of the chipping which is emphasised with the darker shades. I just don't feel right when I go out with noticeable chipped polish, it looks butchered! I might switch up a brighter shade for the weekend considering 2 days is the expectancy. I quite like OPI and Revlon though, they chip less than Chanel and Dior on me. However, when using the shades for a pedi- much better results across the board!
My blush drawer runneth over. I'm with you

---they're just too hard to resist and I know I'll add more

The Dior Gels just chip on me---I'll continue to use them, and I dare not say I won't purchase others---put a pretty color in front of me and I'm mush.

Med, could it be that it's not the np but that you're a bit more clumsy with your non-dominant left hand that you've to use right know? Maybe the np is chipping because you put more of a strain on your fingers and nails? I know that I've had times when I constantly bumped my nails against something, dragged them over rough surfaces etc because I can be Miss Clumsy from time to time. Of course the polish chips faster then.
Oh you're totally correct Anneri. In fact, the way that my polish is wearing is proof positive! My dominant right hand doesn't have a single chip, but every nail on my left
hand is awful. I'm wearing a dark color so it does show more and I'm so, so ready for a polish change. Another sign that your theory is valid---the nails on my right hand
are growing like crazy. I've broken 3 nails on my left hand this week. In keeping with the purple theme I think I'l go with Chanel's Sweet Lilac #615 and view this
predicament as an opportunity to use the tons of untried NPs in my stash.

I haven't tried mine yet, but found these swatches of the Transat Golden shimmer on pale skin from this blogger:

You must try MissTania. It's so, so lovely on, and it buffs to a lovely soft sheen on the facial high plains.

Lol I can be Miss Clumsy well all the time

)) honestly the new Dior formula is so good, no chipping for me but if I often do my toes, I don ´t do manicures every week. In my expérience both on nails and toes the Dior np was long wearing:)
I enjoy similar success on my toes as well Dominique. I would probably enjoy longer wear on my hands if I'd just step away from the keyboard!

Hey ladies! Thoughts on atlantique? I bought the beautiful brown quint, but didn't know if I should go back for the blue one. :). ps. I'm loving the fluid sticks, bought 754 today and can't stop wearing it.

I think Atlantique is a pretty quint, the textures are good overall ( not chalky in my opinion ) and quite intense. T. gave C, I don ´ t know why, I already made pretty makeups using Atlantique, of course if I want something highly pigmented I buy from Urban Decay, Dior or Chanel quints and quads are less pigmented but I think Atlantique deserves better than a C, its a classy quint too.

I completely agree with you. I gave it a way better rating than what T gave to it. I didn't feel it's chalky one shadow out of the 5 is a bit dry but all them worked pretty well. Even the silver with shimmer got minimal fall outs even with the glitter on. I'm talking about the Saks exclusive transatlantique quad.

Yes I agree only 1 out of the 5 is a bit dry ( a blue one ) but it works very well and I did my MU in 5 mn so I think I can do much better. It is worth purchasing :) and Sundeck is very good too. Maybe more pigmented btw.

I recently ordered Sundeck in spite of trying to resist it. The only reason I didn't order Atlantique (the blue one) is
because I have Chanel Lagons, Tom Ford Cobalt Rush and a customized MAC 15
shadow palette of blues. I think that's more blue than one girl needs in a lifetime. On the other hand, I also
picked up a few other items from the Transat collection; Both Nude Shimmers, all 3 nail
lacquers and a lipstick.

And yay--

I got that same fluidstick, Pandore, as well as Artifice #639. I love them both, but they wear better for me over lipstick.

I got free samples of the fluid sticks. I'll do swatches and try them. I'm not a gloss fan. I'm a lipstick junkie, but maybe this is gonna change my mind and actually fall in love with these hybrids.

In spite of trying to resist :)))) yes but you purchased Sundeck and I totally agree with that choice, the 5 shades are great both for nude and soft MU and bold intense ones, I love it too :) As for those fluid sticks I asked a Sephora girl if they were successful and she said no, everyone prefers YSL lip stains in fact. I like wearing Pandore and Wonderland for the weekend, they look casual in a way.

I couldn't appreciate the fluidsticks on their own---it lasted 15 minutes on me and was gone. I thought I was being punked, but when I
but them over lipstick I liked them much better. I don't think I'll be adding anymore to my stash.

Neither will I, Dior must improve the formula I think. " hybrid " they call it, yes it is hybrid but it is not long wearing enough to deserve the name " lipstick", in my opinion. I have 2 and honestly I will not purchase more. I purchased à lot from Transat :) I love the collection, but those fluid sticks well.

really? boooo i really wanted tiny pink. I guess i'll pass on them. I did get the sample from Sephora but haven't tried them yet. I have one from Maybelline a friend sent me and it lasts a very long time. you would think Dior would beat that... disappointing.

I'm thinking I might have been overly optimistic, in that I loved YSL K & Bs so much that I expected the fluid sticks to be a hit too.
