I'm not a huge matte lover either. They don't actually dry my lips out but I feel like my lips are so dry.

Have you tried anything underneath it?

Mac makes a lip primer that is very moisturizing, brings out the color of the lipstick, but not drying your lips out.

I also recently discovered that the eos lip balm (the egg shaped ones) work pretty good as a primer as well for matte lipsticks.

Very moisturizing but doesn't take away from the matte look.

Neither the Mac, lip prep and prime or the EOS balm are greasy looking.

so far the best is lush chocolate whipstick

yes I have tried prep and prime lip - it's crap doesn't do anything. waste of money

I really dont like mattes they make my lips appear smaller and I always end up with a gloss ontop for some hydration. Typically Ill buy them and just use a clear gloss because they are usually nice in pigmentation and long lasting but for me personally Im not a fan of flat looking dried out lips lol -_-

eh I asked my sister what they were, she dislikes them lol
Says it breaks her out and you have to scrub hard to get it off.

Oh God I hate those things. They are so hard to remove, even with makeup remover...and after a month or two, they smell so awful that I can't handle using them.
