It depends on how pigmented your lips are. It definitely needs a liner as it's pretty sheer (being a lustre), but can go ashy if you've got quite a lot of pigment to your lips. For me, if a lipstick NEEDS a liner to work, i say skip.
ok thanks for your help. My lips are definitely dark and pigmented so it will probably come off on the ashy side lol. I just wanted 1 more thing from this collection bc the bullets r so freaking cute...stupid Mac making me buy shit I don't need.

My counter has sold out of Enchanted One :( I'm not really surprised, just disappointed. The way the SA talked on Friday, they're having some big thing next week so they had PLENTY of stock... I guess not! Ah well, at least I got one.

My grandmother lived 5years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was cancer free for 3 of those years. My auntie wasn't so lucky my mother lost her only sister 2 years ago to cancer. Cancer can suck it!

I feel the same way. I learnt my lesson with Cherish. Went thru Boldly Bare, Nice n Spicy and a few others that were too pink til I found one to work the way I wanted it to without looking ashy-nude, which is a look that I absolutely hate. Off mini rant lol

When I went to try on Siren Song, I looked at the woman helping me and I said that I didn't think it worked on me much, and she said, "Yeah...with this one you need a liner." After hearing that, I just thought "Nah. No thanks." I like using liners to line my lips and maybe fill in to intensify a color, alter it, or make it last longer....not simply to make the lipstick work on me. I want to be able to buy a lipstick that already works on me on its own.

I'm the same way the best lipstick in this collection IMO is goddess of the sea no liner needed

Exactly. Now i feel bold lips need liners because you need that crisp edge because your lips are grabbing the attention, and you want them perfect. But if you need to to wear a liner in order to just wear a lippie and keep it from looking like death or that you're a crack whore? Huh uh, no way! :nono:

I hardly use liners anyway lol too high maintenance for me because I'm very amateurish with makeup. I use Burgundy with Viva Glam I because my hubby just so randomly liked the look when a MUA did it for me and I used one with Vegas Volt a couple times. I love a brand/formula that can give me a flattering lipstick with no liner.

It makes a lot of sense!

I skipped on GotS. My purples haven't been getting much love from me lately. I bet it looks absolutely lovely on you, and non-fussy as well, as you don't need a liner for it!

Of the three I bought (Mystical, PMP, &Enchanted One) My favorite is Enchanted One. It's a great nude-y color on me.

I think for most people it should be a skip if they have to use a liner, but sometimes I just love the effect of certain colors when I wear them with a liner even though I wouldn't actually wear them without one. Fleshpot, for example. I adore that one with the right liner and blended just right, but I wouldn't wear it on its own. Still, I think most people hate having to put a lot of effort into making a lipstick work.
