Exactly. Now i feel bold lips need liners because you need that crisp edge because your lips are grabbing the attention, and you want them perfect. But if you need to to wear a liner in order to just wear a lippie and keep it from looking like death or that you're a crack whore? Huh uh, no way!

Yeah, that is what the majority of my liners are used for, when I'm wearing a bold lip.

hahaha, yes. Don't want to look like death!

I'm probably the only one, but I didn't care for Modern Lure. It was too dark, undertones too... IDK, red? Something was off for me. Soul Serenade was too close to Liquer and Spree for me.

No worries hun. It helps me to talk about it. I lost my mother to cancer last Sunday.
So sorry to hear that!! You and your family are in my thoughts!
It depends on how pigmented your lips are. It definitely needs a liner as it's pretty sheer (being a lustre), but can go ashy if you've got quite a lot of pigment to your lips. For me, if a lipstick NEEDS a liner to work, i say skip.
I'm the same way!
My counter has sold out of Enchanted One :( I'm not really surprised, just disappointed. The way the SA talked on Friday, they're having some big thing next week so they had PLENTY of stock... I guess not! Ah well, at least I got one.
According to the SA I talked to when I was picking up my stuff, they are getting another shipment of products exclusively for the event. I would call up and see if you can get your hands on EO during the event!
When I went to try on Siren Song, I looked at the woman helping me and I said that I didn't think it worked on me much, and she said, "Yeah...with this one you need a liner." After hearing that, I just thought "Nah. No thanks." I like using liners to line my lips and maybe fill in to intensify a color, alter it, or make it last longer....not simply to make the lipstick work on me. I want to be able to buy a lipstick that already works on me on its own.
I agree!

I had been battling my voices all weekend but today I caved in and got the last thing that was missing on my list (Pet me please). Its ridiculous how this collection flew off the shelves at most stores. I stopped by my Nordies counter and they were sold out of everything, had to drive to my pro store and even there they only had a couple things left.

I think for most people it should be a skip if they have to use a liner, but sometimes I just love the effect of certain colors when I wear them with a liner even though I wouldn't actually wear them without one. Fleshpot, for example. I adore that one with the right liner and blended just right, but I wouldn't wear it on its own. Still, I think most people hate having to put a lot of effort into making a lipstick work.
exactly

if I have to make something work.. then that product does not work for me.

I have enough aggravation dealing with work and the miscell creatures in my life..

Mac really planned this launch perfectly as the Memorial weekend crowds plus the regulars hauled like crazy. Everything either have a sold out sign or missing tester slots with sold out stickers. @Ms. Annette, sincere condolences to you and your family :bouquet:

I lost my father in 2008 and my mother in 2009. My parents were "home" to me. I eventually moved 8 hours away to be near my husband's family. I felt homesick a lot, but after my last visit to my home town, I realized I wasn't homesick for the place. I was homesick for my Mom and Dad.

Enchanted One lipstick with Clear Water on top. Excuse my skin....I had a chemical peel last week and it's still peeling around my mouth and nose.

It is never the places we miss but the people in our lives. Your parents are smiling down on you.
