Dior Cosmetics Discussion

I went through the same thing with Mac. I was getting so wrapped up in buying from collection after collection and then I wouldn't end up wearing half of it more than a couple of times. I also love what I've kept, though and I enjoy investigating all the other brands I've discovered in my "spare time".
Me too!

Not to mention the stalking the staying up all night, the dreaded waiting room, collections sold out in minutes .....I was buying things up and then not wearing it...it got so crazy!!!

now I'm loving all these other brands which I can explore at my leisure.

I gorged on MAC in 2012 and 2013 and only started branching into other brands last fall (other than NARS). Since December, I've only bought MAC lippies. Virtually everything else I've bought has come from other brands. I might be spending more on a per item basis, but I'm buying fewer things and enjoying indulging here and there.

I have a great MAC base but I don't think they'll see the bulk of my makeup spending again.

Has anyone tried Dior it lash or it liners (in any colour)? If so how are they?

Hi Kittily

I wore the pink today and I love it. I didn't wear full pink lashes. I applied black mascara first and

then the pink to the tips. I loved the understated look! I don't think I could bring myself to wear full pink lashes but
the subtle color on the tips of my lashes was just perfect.

Yes I did :) I tried It-Lash mascara in blue. It covers my lashes pretty well ( better than Chanel coloured Inimitable IMO ) but it's not my holy grail mascara though. The brush is made of plastic, and is a bit too long. It is quite intense, so I think we could say it's a good mascara. ( My holy grail is le Volume.)

Not a day goes by that I don't use some MAC product or another---like you Audrey, a great MAC base. Having lost my MAC Mojo, I won't ever buy a full collection again, but will get a select item or few. I haven't purchased any MAC at all this year, but I've made a pig of myself w/Chanel, TF, Dior, Guerlain and YSL.

Sorry for the delayed response Kittily. I got the blue liner and I love it. I did a reverse smokey eye look with it.
This was a good purchase. I was tempted to go back for the purple but decided on an e/s palette instead. I also
got the mascara in pink & blue, but I've only worn the pink so far, and only on the tips of my lashes. Love it!

Dior has updated the Dior Addict fragrance line and invited me for a quick introduction. After that, I'm so happy to get a sample of the eau fraiche, and better still, a sample of the It mascara. I was ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the pink one at the counter and the front of the sample showed a pink brush and I was so excited! Turned out to be black when I turned the packaging over. But I'm still very happy and will try it soon.

That's awesome Miss QQ. Those of us who got the sample of IT Mascara were tricked too by the packaging versus what was it it. The sample mascara was nice & I
subsequently purchased the full sized pink, purple & blue.

haha i'm on a MAC low buy only. I'm very practical with all my other purchases, it's just MAC that I was getting a bit out of control for myself. I buy buy buy and never wear it so I had to re-evaluate my MAC purchases. I get caught in the hype with MAC and buy things i don't need or wear. Dior, Chanel etc i think about more before my purchases and I always grab for them first which is why it's I stopped buying some MAC. I do LOVE MAC blushes though!!!

I always like MAC but never shopped their collections much. I was always a Dior or Chanel girl and you didn't need to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to get what you wanted. So i'm new to all that stalking stuff for MAC and it's more a turn off for me. I rather pay twice as much and get the quality elsewhere and not stay up endless hours to get a specific lipstick. My recent MAC purchases have all been super lucky... i woke up, checked online and caught the launches. I wish I loved MAC like I used too. it's way cheaper a hobby but I think the collection after collection in my face turns me off a bit too. I get overwhelmed with it all.
Don't get me wrong, I still like MAC and will continue to buy from them just not like I used too. The last 2 collections I purchased from have been disappointing (quality wise)

same. only for me it's mostly just their blushes.

the pedro one sucks!!! It worked fine the first few uses and now i have a plastic hockey puck. I scrapped off a few layers and the only way it works is to scrap it before each use. no thanks. Luckily I grabbed the Osbourne blushes before it happened or I wouldn't have grabbed them. Those blushes work beautifully and I love the colors but they just don't have that Dior melt into your skin quality. I think i'm done with MAC for a bit. Possibly one item or so in a collection if it stands out but who knows.

yes a MAC only low-buy. I'm more cautious with my other purchases. MAC sucks me in and I buy stupid stuff I know i'll never use. I see everyone grabbing it and loving it and I think to myself... wait... i'm missing out, lol. i've gotten rid of all my useless purchases now through swapping or selling. I'm happy with my collection but now I only buy the stuff I know I'll wear. It was easier to try it and see if I'd like it instead of missing out on it. i now realize which formulas and colors that I grab for. In the past I'd just buy it all. I'm starting to fall out of love with MAC. Their products are more disappointing in quality each collection.
I totally got sucked in and/but I don't think I fell out of love---I think we needed a break from one another. You know, as in absence makes the

grow fonder. I can totally

see getting a few lipsticks that might be unique to my collection, but I know I'll never buy at the rate/volume that I did previously. I'm sorry to hear about the reduction in
quality, as well as the packaging snafus in the last three collections.

yeah i shouldn't have said "fall out of love" it's more like i'm angry with MAC. very annoyed. I was just poking around the website looking excitedly at pigments so my anger doesn't last very long I guess. i'm enjoying my Osbourne stuff a lot. just super annoyed at the pedro blush (AKA hockey puck/paper weight) and 2 of my lustres (new) have that weird snow on them. it shouldn't be this soon. they are all stored in same temperature. i'll get over it lol
i agree.. i'll still shop MAC collections but never at the level that I was. the past few i have been fortunate enough to be awake for (because of baby) so i got lucky. I enjoy the stalking with the ladies in the thread but i'd not stay up all night for MAC at this point. (but i haven't seen Simpsons color story yet)
