I've REALLY been trying to stop backing up lip products, but having an extra Ruby pp is really tempting…..

I wonder what'll be up with the Patent Polishes going forward. It seemed like MAC wanted to make a big splash with them, but the Huggables took off much more and the PPs were a little underapreciated. I'm a big fan of both, but it seems like PPs were just sort of a confusing product and presentation for people, who expected them to be one thing, and they were something different.
I really like the patent polishes too and was a bit surprised to see them in the goodbye section on the US site already. I don't think this is the case in Canada, but it makes me feel like I should buy some more considering Mac may not bring them back in the future. I really shouldn't be backing up any more lip products either, but it's really hard when you find the perfect shade and finish. I do hope that more patent polishes are released in the future for those of us who love them.

When I spoke with a member at a MAC store, I was told that at first they were a big seller. Then a whole lot of returns were coming back. People weren't too happy; that they lacked sufficent pigmentation. May that is why they are already on the goodbye section.

I suspect that they may be expensive, too, for a type of product that the drugstore does pretty well. They are $24.00 in Canada, and that adds up to a lot of money fast! And the Sharon ones are $25.50. I find the Cover Girl ones are actually pretty good, for half the price (even less if they are on sale) and there is lots of colour selection. I normally never buy Cover Girl but I do have a bunch of their lip crayons because they are really kind of nice.
