BTW Nordstrom is no longer shipping free samples and GWPs to freight forwarding addresses, to those of us who use them.

I previously used Nordstrom to ship to a freight forwarding address and they recently cancelled my last order and advised that many brands do not allow them to knowingly ship to freight forwarders. Have you had any issues? I'm so annoyed with this situation.

I hear you on that! An order was recently cancelled for the samples but the Beauty Stylist quite helpfully replaced the order for me (sans samples). That has been the only issue so far because I'm not placing a lot of Nordstrom orders right now. It would be really disappointing if we couldn’t get items shipped at all! I'm curious as to the reason for it

May I ask which brand/s were in that last order and where you are forwarding them to?

I believe the reason is certain brands wish to control their prices and markets- eg. MAC, Clinique and Estee Lauder are all from the same group and are about twice the price in Australia than the USA.

I spoke to a Beauty Stylist again a few hours ago who said if I were to order Dior, Lancome and NARS she did not think the order would be cancelled. But Chanel would be.
She then tried to say that she could not guarantee this if they were Hazmat as they may not make it through customs - I told her that had not been an issue with the forwarding service and they can even send perfumes. No one had mentioned Hazmat before.


On the flip side, I've been low buying as a direct result lol!

Lol forced low-buy! It was a Chanel blush and the samples were Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Chloe. But they told me the samples were the issue and for you it's the actual product. I know how the price hike is. A MAC lipstick here is $130. and the selection is limited. No Chanel, TF, Guerlain, Givenchy, Dior etc etc. I need more info from them on this because it absolutely blows lol

How interesting! Where are you located? I wonder if that's related to the issue.

I just called and asked to speak to a manager but was advised they were in a meeting.

The chap I spoke to was extremely helpful and even offered to read the entire current list of restricted vendors to me. I just checked on my faves.

He confirmed as suspected- Dior, Lancome and NARS should be ok, and YSL too. No Chanel though.

I strongly recommend you stay under the radar, don't order large quantities of the same item and don't ask- you may go undetected for a while - I hope so for your sake as no Chanel, Dior, TF, Guerlain and Givenchy is harsh!!

I have a friend from the US coming here in November- I might need her to transport a cosmetics package lol.

Forced low buy it is- I do need to be on this program though, I've really gone overboard with the freight forwarding.

Hi, thanks so much for the info! It's much appreciated. I'm from Trinidad in the Caribbean. I'll have to see how this goes. Why wouldn't they want even more customers? Totally OT but if anyone is seeking the recently d/c'd Perfection Lumiere ambre such as 114, 154 etc my sales associate told me today that they are still in the system and they are able to order them. I didn't ask if the order would be delivered to the customer's home or for store pick up. HTH

Yes, the West Indies is well known to us due to cricket- I can't say I follow it though lol! T and T is also familiar to me, (my mother is from Bosnia and Hercegovina, I always pick up on the few "and" nations!

Me either, except when my country is playing lol although Stuart Broad is nice to look at; he's the Muggle Draco Malfoy lol The rivalry was strong when the Waughs and S.Warne were playing and we had a great team but now our team is so-so. Yes, B&H and T&T, the "and"s lol Thanks for making me smile thru this crushing Nordies blues :-D Hope we can both work out something with these orders. I'm glad if you can have your friend bring you stuff so you won't have to face the high price markup.

So I caved after thinking all of this would be a skip for me.....I bought Innocence, Intime, Confident, Songe and Orage.....and now Hesitation is on its way.......

Innocence is beautiful!!
