OMG! Clarion had some amazing eyeshadow quads, great lipsticks and their blushes were to die for. I can't recall if they had mascara and eyeliner, but that was a great brand. Does anyone remember Natural Wonder? It was another drug store brand from the 80's/90's. They had the most amazing lavender lipstick back then. I think it was only .99 or $1.00 for their makeup also. The packaging was pink like a hot pink I believe. It was different. Shame they didn't last too long.

That's me almost every time, too. That's why I get so obsessive researching products and getting different opinions. I enjoy hearing all the different thoughts people have. It often doesn't really change my mind, but it's still fun.

I really think MAC dropped the ball on the 15 x palette... the perm ones too. I mean, great idea! Poor execution. First off, I don't think putting a few perm shades in them is that bad, especially if they're staples (except for Carbon... no more of that one), but the fact that they couldn't just make these palettes like the perm pro palettes?! Where you could remove the perm shades if you didn't want them in the palette, or replace shades you don't like or use up, or even reuse the palette altogether when you're done with it... I mean the quads and duos being glued down, whatever. I could deal with getting a quad and maybe not wanting or using up a shade and still keep the quad. BUT a whole 15 pan palette!? I think the concept is wasteful and not user friendly at all. If people could pop the shades out and use it like the pro palettes, I think A LOT more people would be willing to pull the trigger on these. AND it would probably get people more interested in purchasing more pro palettes because these could be an introduction to the palettes themselves.
And on the topic of packaging... it never makes or breaks a purchase decision for me UNLESS I'm uncertain about the product in the first place. In the case of this particular packaging, it's obviously provoked some strong negative feelings for some for whatever their reasons... I don't see that as any more or less a reason to buy or skip a product than if people LOVE the packaging (like AA). LOTS of people hauled a ton from AA STRICTLY for the packaging. So at the end of the day, at least skipping for packaging reasons keeps some money in your pocket... And it's not like we won't see similar products ever again. Like Liba's mentioned in the past, MAC will always bring back similar products (in most likely better and improved formulas)... so whatever your reason is for skipping, none of us are really missing out in the end.

Agree with all of this. I'm sure these shadows probably CAN be removed from the palette, but certainly not easily. MAC really should have made it more user friendly and more easily reusable.

The pans are stuck at the bottom, so one CAN but def not meant to be. I dont really understand why though bec they did sell the palette anyway and leaving option to customize it with pro pans only means more business.

Yesterday I and my sister took apart the kelly quad, so I can put in my pro palette.
It was a task and pretty easy to pop out the case. But you do have to melt it still to get it out the shadows and take your time.
There is so much GLUE! Thick and goopey.
There are not meant to be popped out that is for sure.
But if one was determined then they can.
Also the palettes are not magnetized either so to use it as a pro palette would also take extra work and money.

I know! Dont get the logic, if some one already brought the 15 palette, its sold and then why would they care if we change few shadows around. Only means more pro pan purchases for them which is good business

i'm glad you guys remember the brand...and you had good memories of it! i tried a lipstick and an eyeshadow quad from them way back when. but at that time i wasn't introduced to blush, so i have absolutely no recollection of those. i remember they had this little computer terminal type thing to figure out your 'colours' and then you could pick from warm cool whatever.... i felt like the lipstick choices were good, but the eyeshadow didn't translate so well on my skin...i wish i had kept that quad so i could compare to the stuff i wear now! the lipstick i had given to my mom, mango-something-or-other, and a few years ago i made her throw it away cuz it was like 20 years old or something...i wish i had that too so i could find a dupe!
i never saw natural wonder. sounds fun and very affordable though!

You can also use alcohol. Many will probably tell you not to do that and that it will destroy some eyeshadows.

I would have totally bought it, if they did it like you get all the other shadows but the six perm ones. Then as a choice you can pick those six perm shadows you want in the palette lolI know!
