There is only 6 perm shades in the x15 palette...
That is 2/5 of the palette, though, so I'm going to have to really love the rest before I drop that kind of money on it. I still might. I think this palette could be great for someone who doesn't have a large MAC eyeshadow collection, though. Assuming the other colors swatch nicely, of course.

Totally valid, and you've been saying that for a while, not just since the packaging pic came out. I'm sure some of the people who are skipping now just weren't interested in the color story to begin with, but it does feel like some seem to base their entire decision on the packaging. This packaging just feels too plain and boring to evoke much if a reaction from me either way... good or bad.
Exactly. I get what your saying.
No one should solely base judgement on packaging alone.
But people do, because packaging means a lot to fans of MAC.

Absolutely for someone just building a MAC e/s stash, 15 palettes are really good deal if yo like more than 3/4th of the shades. But for many who already have a lt of these e/s from perm line, adding perm shades to LE will def lead to second thought. I mean i can take 1 or 2 in a 15X palette, but 6- the propotion just doesnt work for me!

And I have all the 6, so it doesnt make sense for me to get the palette @ 100 for the rest. Since perm shades are always available as pro pans, I really dont care having those in the LE palettes. Give me new shades!!!!!!

Lol the palette colors sound wonderful.

Yes, and I do think packaging is important, to an extent. It might sway me one way or the other if I'm on the fence about the product itself.

True, it would be a great investment for those who would like to invest in MAC shadows.

I know! I would have def gone for the 15X palette if not for the 6 (SIXXX) perm shades! I have both the warm and cool palettes (the 15 X ones) and love those, dont care if they add 1-2 perm shades but not more than that!

I always get excited about the packaging. I'm a lady who loves pretty things lol.
But it is always the product over packaging for me.
But I totally see what youre saying, I've been in that situation before.

I have all but Shroom. I know...crazy to not have such a classic MAC shade. Just never got around to getting it.

Does packaging really trump product now? Doesn't anyone care to see the swatches? I mean, I'm likely to skip this collection, too, but we've barely only gotten a glimpse of the actual products and yet it seems that almost everyone has already made up their minds to skip just based on a single picture of the packaging. I mean, that's fine, and no one should buy anything they dislike or won't use, but still...
The packaging matters to me since the color story is a little blah and if I'm going to go thru the all night stalking it has to be the bomb, otherwise no. Stalking is hard so I have to genuinely love/like the color description and/or packaging to do so and I'm not into them. Maybe the palette. But nothing else.

If you like more than 3/4th of the shades from the palette ( and of course if the shades perform, anther mystery with MAC) 15X palettes are pretty good deal

... And yes you NEED Shroom

I bought Shroom as a gift for my mother in law but never got it for myself because I assumed at the time that I had too many similar shades. I'll get it soon... either in this palette or as a single

Packaging doesn't make or break a collection for me. I personally am disappointed in the color story for this collection. I was super excited when I first heard about it!

The color story didn't interest me when it came out and for the longest time I didn't read this thread. The lipsticks were in finishes I do not like/do not work for me and the colors are those I have multiples of and already have HGs of. I prefer making my own palettes instead of pre-mades because first and foremost, I want to avoid buying Carbon eyeshadow in a palette for the 5th time. Second, so that I know I like everything and they all get rotated and actually used. But since this is an October collection --and to me October collections are always special-- at the back of my mind I was hoping/expecting it to be the equivalent of the Marilyn Monroe Collection with collectible packaging since after all, this is Brooke Shields. I was prepared to pick one or two solely for the packaging if I fall in love with it as I am an enthusiast for special MAC packaging. I just didn't fall in love with it so yes, I'm skipping.
