Her swatch is quite different. I have Fanny and it's darker and more purple than her swatch.

I have to say, I know lipsticks look different on everyone and lighting can affect swatches, etc., but I have never seen lipsticks look so different from swatch to swatch and person to person as I have these Nars lippies. I don't know why that is, either. Usually once you see several swatches of something, even on different skin tones, you get a pretty clear idea of it. But in this case it's just making me more confused!

I feel like this is a line you're definitely better off swatching in person if you can. Unfortunately there's not a single store near me that carries it, so I'm going to have to pull the trigger and make a wild guess eventually!

I keep talking myself into and out of getting Barbara and Jane lol
Oh me too, believe me. Barbara and Raquel are usually on my buy list, but literally every other lippie in the "nudes" has been on and off, on and off, on and off...

Then Kelly, Catherine and Juliette are just too hard for me to figure out. Too pink? Too red? Too orange? I have no idea.

I totally agree! I knocked many off my list just by swatching them in person. Don't get me wrong, I think they are beautiful lippies, but a lot of them that I thought would be my color, were not. I think because they are so incredibly pigmented some of the darker shades looked really dark and harsh on me. Jane was the only one I bought, and I just ordered Vivien last night. I plan to get Catherine and Annabella which are both stunning in my opinion. I think I'll be done after that.

You are quite right. I bought Fanny yesterday and it is a much darker wine color on me. I swatched Anna in Sephora and decided it is not for me. These lipsticks have a tough test to pass in my opinion, and that is, is it worth the price of two Mac lipsticks. By in large the answer for me is no. I wanted to be in love with these lipsticks but I was not over the moon about most of them. I still feel like Nars makes a great lipstick I just don't feel it is worth $32. I walked out of Sephora with 4 lipsticks yesterday all but Fannny are going back.

I agree. I had a long list and that list was drastically cut when I swatched them in person. It is better to swatch them in person ladies. I am really debating whether I should get Dominique. Not sure it will look nice on me. I'm NC-45. I'm happy for all of the ladies that remain in love with the colors after they tried them on.

If you dont mind me asking, which other colors did you buy that you want to return? The MUA in the nars boutique put Anna on my cousin who is very fair and more cool toned than me and it looked great. But it looked NOTHING like any of the swatches I have seen. Amazing how different they all look.

Did you swatch any nudes? The price is a big consideration for me, though.

Hi Kelly. I got Jane, Anna, Angela and Fanny. I like Angela. It is a pretty berry-pink. However it is dupable and NOT worth $32.

It's not that I did not like it. I thought it was a pretty color. I think it is dupable and did not pass the $32 Splurge lipstick test. I did not think it was worth the price of two lipsticks. There was nothing unique about it.
Thanks! I'm going to take some more time to see more swatches of these.
