I agree and second but I don ´ t think we will get this collection here, I will ask because it is worth the splurge the packagings are Art Nouveau Art Déco, stunning.
Whoops! You're right; it is more deco that nouveau. But by any category, still stunning.

Finally, luxe packaging that looks luxe and not chunky and clunky. I'm really into modern and experimental design, but a number of the past couture collections - such as Gareth Pugh and Marcel Wanders - have been literally heavy, especially compacts. I did get some GP stuff because the colors were so unusual.

And $30 for a lipstick matches other "couture" cosmetic brands. I know on some boards here some people were saying that if MAC lipstick cost $16 (or $16.50, i forget which) they would just buy couture lines like YSL and Dior. I have some of those lipsticks and i don't think they're twice as good as MAC.

That said, unless that dark purple looks absolutely amazing, i'm not going to get any of this stuff.
Couldn't agree more. I have quite a few tubes of YSL Rouge Pur, but I would take a MAC Amplified or Satin over them any time. I can't speak for their mattes as I don't own any, but having swatched them multiple times at the store I can't see them performing any better than a MAC matte.

The only lippies which, imo, are worth the extra dosh are Rouge G and Kanebo The Lipstick. Even then I would pick a good MAC matte over either of them. I can't comment on the likes of Hourglass, Tom Ford et al. as I haven't tried them. Dolce Gabbana was a massive disappointment, as were the two Givenchy mattes I stupidly splurged on last year. Never again.

I'm not a fan of the packaging and I just can't get past the square lipstick tubes. Unless I am in love with the actual product inside this will probably be a skip for me.

i got a YSL Matte lippie last week. and i think its better than a satin or Amplified ls from mac but not a regular Matte, but its so soft and doesnt move. i like it more than the creamy mattes mac is putting out.
I just wished they had more Colors, i got 207 Rose Perfecto.

Mac is Always going to be better than High End Brands, the Price is good and the Color Range is Better.

If that lavender lipstick is really like the one in that photo, I think I'll be picking it up despite the exorbitant price. The packaging is pretty nice, though I'm more of a silver than a gold girl. The compacts are really pretty, but I cannot justify the price.

Yeah, I have a handful of HE lippies (Chanel, Guerlain, TF..) but I don't think anything is way better than Mac. There are some nice ones though,

I don't think I'd get the lipstick but the bronzer and lipglass would be a nice gift to myself. Too pricey for me to need it though.

If you find some money on the pavement and don't know what to do with it check out Kanebo lippies. Those suckers are heaven in a tube. I picked up 7-8 shades from their Lasting Treatment line at a ridiculous discount when they changed the packaging. They're pretty much all I use when my lips go all chapped and flaky and gross in winter (that said, Huggables also work miracles on battered lips). Then I discovered their The Lipstick range. Good thing ICIParisXL do a 40%off on all lippies once a year

My mum, who loves MAC lippies but sometimes finds them a tad drying, swears by Sisley lipsticks. I'm going to raid her stash the next time I visit. Teehee.

I love the packaging, but I can't afford this collection. I love the purple, but it really looks like Heroine to me and the lavender looks too light for me and I don't really like reds on myself.

Rose Perfecto looks lovely. I didn't even know it existed lol. I know the four reds that they've had for a while, but that's it.

It's not just the price and colour range that I like about MAC lippies. I feel that they also perform a lot better than the overwhelming majority of HE stuff I have. It's my experience anyway. YMMW.

I don't think nude acoustic ever came to the US. Just Europe and Canada. I picked up fuchsia fetiche and I love it.

All 3 lippies at least! I wonder whats inside the compacts
Dying to know the same. I can't really use a bronzer in the holidays, as I will be cruising my anemic vampire complexion, but in that compact, who the hell cares, right? Now my Proenza square lipsticks will have some company. Love those purples. If the red is like the promo pic, I can see myself grabbing that one up too.

Hahahaha... I love your phrase "cruising my anemic vampire complexion"! I'm going to see that. Of course most people will look at me and say "what? Cruising is done in a car or a boat." And I'll just chuckle...

I just really hope that the packaging is heavy and not something plastic that weighs nothing. I probably go for the bronzer if it's the right shade and the red I/s I am always a big fan of blue reds so I really hope that that's the case with this one.
