Clove and Lofty look really nice, Canter and Pepper are pretty, too. And why do I not own Soft Brown?

That Carbon swatch though.

I have dupes for all the colors. Glad I skipped. It is pretty though http://www.temptalia.com/sneak-peek-mac-x-brooke-shields-gravitas-eyeshadow-palette-photos-swatches
I considered getting the palette for the price but i already have satin taupe, UD virgin which i heard its a dupe for shroom, artistic license and deep fixation, to me these 2 are way prettier than expensive pink and antiqued, sumptuous olive which looks like psyche but better... So its a skip

is it just me or does satin taupe look off too?

I considered it, the price made me want it. But via swatches it is like have it, have a dupe and so on. So I totally agree with you.
I'm adding it to my wishlist, lol.
Top of the list! Lol

Just looked at T's swatches and all look good... Except carbon... And the Rocky Horror palette has yet another Carbon! :rants:

Your quote disappeared, but I thought Satin Taupe looked different than the one I have. Frostier? Sheerer? Not sure what it is, but somehow different.

Lol, it does look better than in T's swatches.
I was thinking exactly the same. I double backed and re-checked the swatch to ensure that it was Satin taupe. It looks nothing like the one I have!

I have a really, really old Carbon single. Must be around 15 years old. That one is perfection, soooo pigmented! MAC has released other really good black eye shadows over the years, some of them really pretty. I don't understand why they must include crappy Carbons in every other palette or quad now.

I thought so too. So maybe it's due to T's lighting or application method.

We should start a 'No More Carbon!' petition.

Now that I have seen swatches, I'm glad I didn't buy the palette. I think I'll just fill my custom palette. It's nice but nothing really calls out to me.
