Thanks Dolly, I am seriously wanting SLN.. but I said I wasn't interested in SJ because it was too orange. Do I make sense... no no not at all lol.
I totally understand you make perfect sense lol
SJ is a deep red orange, based off swatches.
Whereas SLN is more bright, fun orange on the lighter side.

Naomi,

Suddenly I have no freakin idea what I want from this collection. I may skip it. According to T's swatches, the only lipstick that looks remotely tempting is Sin and I already have it. What are you feeling like purchasing. Everything, something, or nothing??

Hallurlurjur! Lol
:lmao:
Why are all her swatches so bright?
It's because she uses the freaking sun for a lamp!!!
I think she was probably working at getting all the swatches up and didn't let the lipsticks set to matte before taking the photos. Shoot, if I had soo many products to swatch and review, I might do the same lol. Her "on lip" swatches are what I usually go by but TBH, I'm more concerned about her review portion and dupe suggestions than her swatches anyways :haha: .
It's not that she didn't let them set. It's because her lighting is too bright, as everyone keeps mentioning. I once did a photoshoot where the photographer had lighting that was too bright. I did lips on everyone using liner, lipstick and a soft (non-shimmer) gloss. Every picture was making the lips too glossy, so i blotted off the gloss and just went with liner and a matte lipstick, but the lips were still coming off as if i had used dazzleglass ir something. I ended up just using lipliner on top of powdered lips (dry as hell!) and even then the lips still had a slight sheen to them. All because he photographer's lighting was far too bright. If T would just turn her lighting down a notch or three, her swatches would be more reliable.

I've noticed that a lot of people say the same thing in the comment section of her blog. T always responds with something like "it's your monitor" or "adjust your setting". Does she really not realize the lighting is just way too bright? I just don't get it.

I really wish she would listen, but I've noticed that she doesn't take constructive criticism well. She probably invested a lot of money in her lighting and doesn't want to change it or doesn't know how to change it. Everything looks too bright and too warm. Her swatches didn't used to look like this. Then she invested in "fancier" lighting that is just so far removed from how most of us would normally see these colors on ourselves, and so they just look strange. I think another issue is that she has been using this current lighting for a little while now and I think she is probably afraid of changing it and making comparisons less accurate.

Yea Melrose, I've seen that too. But she isn't one to take suggestions lightly.

Wow. I've dealt with studio lights and have never had that problem unless it was like a really shimmery product but never with over the top lights so I could see how freaking floodlight volume lights would pan out especially where the lights are yellow and not white balanced. Well let's hope somebody let's her know. That's almost as unreliable as putting stupid filters on an instagram photo of makeup!

I get the impression that it's kind of a family business. I remember her saying at some point that her husband and brother/brother-in-law deal with the site and maintenance so who knows. I think they need to make sure that post production (editing, sizing, streamlining etc.) the photos reflect real life. We do that all the time in photography where for some reason we aren't getting true to the eye shots coming up on the camera.

Exactly! It's common knowledge, even when people post a pic here, it isn't just snap a pic and post. We all try to capture the true color, different lighting etc. You should work for her lol. You really know your stuff.

 you so could. I agree her reviews are what I use from her site. Especially when she lists colors close to it.
