Some of the newest LE Lustres are so much better - plenty of pigment, with a lovely stained glass translucency. A lot like the Huggables texture, if you liked those. They even wear a lot better than in the past.

The first and last time I bought a lustre lipstick, I was disappointed and sold it on. Never again

The old lustres are not good - very dry and hardly color the lips. I avoided them back then too.

Now it's getting a lot better, but it's still case by case. I just bought 5 Alarm from Red Red Red because it was gorgeous! If you like the Huggables and can try that one in person, it's worth it to check out.

The one from this collection, I dunno. Not all nudes work on me in the first place - they have to be the right color to blend with my natural lip color and skin. A friend just gave me a few nude lustres that were popular a couple years ago, like Mlle., that I didn't buy when they came out, and I see why - wrong shade and they make me look dull. For free, OK sure, but I wouldn't have spent money on it! This collection has plenty of more unique shades to enjoy anyways, too.

I bought Gospel from the Brooke Shields collection and I as said, I was very disappointed. It did put me off lustres. I haven't tried the huggables, I might give it a shot in the new year. Hopefully, it should let me give lustre lipsticks a chance

Ugh, I didn't like those Brooke Shields lippies at all. :( I did like the bronzer, but that was IT.

Yup, Lustres are Try Before Buy 100% for sure.

Huggables are even better than good Lustres, because they're also more moisturizing feeling. More expensive too, though. I'm sure they will come back one day, but who knows when.

I tried to like the Brooke Sheilds lippies. Just didn't work...

Why didn't you like them?

I was disappointed with the way Gospel came out. The swatch on the MAC website shown it as a really nice burgundy lipstick, I ordered it. When I went to try it on, it was nothing like the swatch on the website and it was really greasy. I felt very let down

I'm debating that VPF palette. I want those lippies but the last Lustres I bought felt chalky on my lips... And drying...

I didnt know these lippies were lustres ):
The last lustre I bought was from FOF.
Lustres used to be my fave finish till I discovered my love for mattes.

No worries, only one lustre in this collection! The nude romantic breakdown, the other ones are matte :)
