The powders are not drying. And the lightest shade works great as a highlight on my fair skin. The darkest highlight shade I can't use at all, well, maybe as an eyeshadow? I also can't use the darkest contrast shade. I really think there is a color in there for every skin tone.  Fwiw I am Light 42 in KVD foundation. Actually, I'm between light 42 and 44, but I wear 42 because I'd rather go a touch lighter than too dark. 

Have you tried the darkest highlight shade as a peach corrector under the eye? I do that and then top it with the yellow highlight shade to brighten it a bit and it's beautiful.
