I'm so disappointed in this collection, red lips for spring are a huge WTF, the blushes are crappy, usually the spring collections are the best collection of the year Imo.  Fantasy Of Flowers was one of my favorite collections ever from MAC.  I skipped this one.
This isn't a spring collection. It's a fun, designer collaboration. Spring doesn't start until mid February. But red lips are huge all year round by the way.

It's funny you say that. I watched that Allura Beauty video and had to go swatch my Sunset Beach ombre from Proenza. I have absolutely no problems picking it up. It is super pigmented and smooth. That said, I remember swatching the Proenza ones in store and they were super stiff. I'm wary of her video and her review of the blushes. None of the other bloggers had as much problems picking up the colour from the blushes. I'm hoping it's just her blush/brush. Karen from MBB is darker than Allura Beauty and I could see the pigment way better in her swatches. I also noticed Heather didn't have any problem getting it to swatch. Maybe she'll weigh in at some point.
Ditto! I have found that the se blushes with the "film" have excellent color payoff once you get that layer off. I'm NW43 and am able to get a great flush.

It's unfortunate so many people seem to be having problems with the blushes but this seems like a common problem especially with ombre blushes. I'm glad I passed on them.

Mhh, I'm not sure whether to be disappointed or happy (as to save money) that Oxblood looks so much like Kinda Sexy which is way too orange/peachy for my undertone. I would've liked it better if it was more pink. But we here in Germany have another month to look at reviews and swatches before the collection launches.

Not really a red lip wearer but out of curiosity do you wear different types (matte vs satin) of reds for different times of year?

Thanks

The formula is very similar. If anything, I'd say that Oxblood feels a little...thicker... if that makes sense. In all honesty, they are basically the same lipstick to me, and I'm someone who usually tries to look for even the slightest differences. Kinda Sexy runs just a hair pinker on me and Oxblood a hair peachier. I have to swatch them side by side and really stare at them to see any difference, though.
Thank you Mandy. Given that, and the blush pigmentation problems, looks like I probably pick up Kinda Sexy, which has been on my list for a while, and maybe the gloss and lipstick versions of Victoriana or Opera. I like the look of the glosses in this collection very much. thanks again!

Can anyone do a comparison swatch of this collection's Ripe Peach with Ocean City from Proenza Schuler; and a swatch of this version of Azalea Blossom?

I just saw Allura's video and it makes want to skip everything except for the green pearlglide pencil. :/ That green looks so cool but I have no idea where I'd go out wearing that.

I think the Fantasy of Flowers was one of the best from last year. The floral theme and the colors were excellent. Many people didn't like the luster finish of the lipsticks, but I think it was the perfect finish to choose from since it reflected a flower's delicacy. I have higher hopes for the Bao Bao Wan and MAC is Beauty collections.

Sara has a comparison on her blog

When I sleep on my back I have the most crazy, vivid dreams and I envisioned what the swatches looked like on dark skin! I'm crazy smh. Has anyone with skin dark as NW45 had Ripe Peach from any collection and thought it was good for dark skin? I think it I'm gonna pick it up now but that film...

Tried RP and oxblood. While both are very pretty I have some pretty close dupes already in my collection. On my skin (nw 15) ripe peach looks a lot like ocean city and oxblood does look like kinda sexy. Both are nice products with decent pigmentation, but I have to strain to really see a significant difference as compared to what I already have.

Oxblood is very nice, but it is really similar to kinda sexy. You may want to compare the two on your skin tone before purchasing.
