The Eye Gloss really is a great product, especially the taupe one!!!! I'm backing mine up with this collection for sure. Don't worry about creasing. If you apply it thinly and let it set for a few moments with your eyes lowered, you won't run into blatant, ugly creasing at all. The glossiness just fades away through the hours, but does so quite evenly. I don't like it applied over powder shadow, but it works quite well applied over a cream shadow or paint pot that's been allowed to dry down thoroughly before you get to the gloss. It's a very glamorous look. I'm glad MAC is pushing this product so heavily, trying to get the trend started.

I just about fell off my chair when I saw that blurple one in the buzz thread.

Oh, nice! I wasn't gonna mind if it creased because I feel like that sorta goes with the territory. I'm definitely getting the taupe one, your description sounds perfect. I wonder if it's gonna be wonky if I apply fake lashes over glossy lids??

Well, the gloss does sit kind of heavily on the eye. That's its main disadvantage, along with the fact you're not going to get more than 4 hours of wear before the full effect is gone. If you don't mind the way lashes feel heavy on the eye, then the gloss won't be an issue, since it's not as heavy feeling as lashes. I'm not sure how the lash glue will interact with the gloss, since I almost never wear lashes. I'd probably put the lashes on first, then the gloss, then liner, if used.

I think the gloss looks best on eyes without liner and very natural mascara, although it also looks great if you use a very natural brownish liner like Our Secret to add a little depth, and some contouring in the crease and around the outer part of the lid - I've done that and have been very happy with the results.

I wrote a lot about them in the original thread from when they came out - can't quite remember which one it is, though. I bought them all, and love them! Wear them when I go out very often!

if you're daring and fashion forward, it's way better than the old Gloss Medium by a long shot.

I only mentioned it because I found the most perfect flirty natural lashes at sephora today that just simply make me look like I was blessed with nice eyelashes. They're really nothing too bold, so I was thinking maybe I'll pair them with the eyegloss since I'm a fan of bare lids and flirty lashes like I'm wearing today. Glossy lid and flirty lashes sounds gorge to me right now but maybe youre right, I'll see how I like it when I'm able to buy the eyegloss. Thats a good idea to do the lashes first though, dont know why I didn't think of that, hahah.

Now that I re-read your original post, BLURPLE? omg I somehow missed that, heading over to that thread right now!

You should check out Medoc, the burgundy one! It's still on the mac site. It looks red in the pot, but when you apply it, especially on darker skin, it turns this gorgeous natural mahogany color. That would look amazing on you!

They are the Sephora brand lashes, they are called "Day Lash"

I'm so new to lashes, so the application isn't good but I inserted a picture so you can get an idea of how they look on me!

Those look absolutely beautiful on you - like you were born with them! I can understand why you were thinking about the glossy lids to go with them! Did you apply mascara to your natural lashes and then apply the falsies? Or just mascara on the lower lashes? If you hadn't said they were fake lashes, I would probably not have noticed. Some false lashes need a little liner on top to mask the strip, but these look like you don't even need that.

IMPRESSIVE!

I know, its crazy! I applied a tiny bit of mascara after I applied the lashes to sort of blend them together. I love these, I think I might wear them quite regularly for the time being. Just $10 too! The only slight gripe I have is I'm not used to the feeling of fake lashes and it can be a slightly strange sensation, but thats just a personal issue haha.

I checked them on Sephora online just now and they're on sale for $5.00. You should stock up! Usually you only get just so many wears out of a pair of false lashes before there's too much glue buildup or they're just unsanitary, so keep that in mind. I think they say 3-5 wears per pair MAX, but I bet someone else can speak to that better than I can.

The taupe one is the sheerest of the 4 that already came out. The other three are so dense with shimmer and pigment that any color underneath isn't going to really read clearly, it'll just give an undertone to the gloss color on top.

I like the combo of the pale green from the SS 15 eye trend palette under the white eye gloss. I've been meaning to try Clearwater paint pot under the taupe - I think that'd be hot with sheer lipgloss or a pale pink lipstick on the lips.

I didn't notice they were on sale! Huh, I was charged full price at Sephora today. I just might have to stock up, these are an instant love!
