What if an employee gets accused of theft. I doubt that would happen because there are cameras everywhere these days. They might already know. If that's the case they may be able to
track the error directly to the customer.
That's always my fear. I don't want someone to make a mistake and lose their job or get their pay reduced because I wanted to keep something that technically isn't mine. Then today with all these tracking numbers and what not, it's easier to track errors to the customer for sure.

Honestly I would keep them / give to friends, family. Their mistake. Not your fault. Not sure of their return policy if they would put them back on the shelves or not but I know places like MAC would just throw it away so why let it go to waste.
In the long run we all pay for those mistakes or losses however you want t o spin it. Costs always go up to off-set losses.

but finding a wallet with ID is definitely different than getting a box of extra's. One time I shopped at an outlet store 3 hrs away from my home. when I got home I noticed on the receipt something rung up for LESS than what I anticipated (no sale nor coupon presented) AND one item that was in my bag wasn't on the receipt....should I have drove 3 hrs back to that store? or call back to a store that cant accept payments over the phone? ummm NO!!! At the end of the day "God knows my heart" and im open to receiving my blessings! now if im at the store paying attention and notice my item wasn't rung up YES I will say "oh u forgot to ring this up" cuz im AWARE of the mistake or what's been overlooked. If I find a dollar in the streets im also NOT posting up signs around the neighborhood "anybody missing a dollar?"

Again....that's just me!! Now let the tabernacle say AMEN!!!

Mistakes happen, theft would not come into play. The packer did not pocket them. A mistake was made. Honesty is the way to go. Otherwise, ever time you use this collection you will think should I have at least let NM know? Again, they will probably say to keep them. If they sent you the wrong item, would you be calling them? It is a mistake, sh** happens. To justify doing nothing by they will toss in the trash is to me just wrong.

I think the whole point of Haven asking was to see different people's opinions. I don't think (or at least I hope not) anyone here is of the view that they are better because of their opinion. We all make decisions based on a myriad of reasons and everybody's particular situation is going to be different. At the end of the day, you should do what you think is right and live with the consequences whether other people agree or not. (There will always be the likelihood of legal and other repercussions for not returning something but as long as you are happy with that risk, then, to quote the youngins... "Do you, boo!")

It's funny that they called it "Tom Fords Unreleased Lipstick." If that's the case how did they get it

I'm curious about your experience with Ripe Plum. Let me know when you figure out what feels different and why. Thanks for the link. I love how soft and pretty Raw
Jade looks on her!!! You know I think at this point, Raw Jade seems to be the front runner of the duos here too. I'm so excited to get these!!!!

I just think of the Reve D'Orient palette I sent as a gift. It was delivered to a wrong house, never to be seen again. Yes, it was a mistake by the delivery person to have taken to the wrong house. But at least to me, it was worse the person who received this should have returned or contacted NM that they got something they should not have. It was wrapped, with a hand written card from me. Somehow I would think this person would know it was not for them, since it went along the lines Suzy Q, May your Holiday's be joyous. We are thrilled to have you be married to (Brother's name) Love, AshieVic

In the end, I do believe honesty is the only way to go. If you chose not to take that path, own it. Don't makeup or attempt to justify why you didn't call NM with bulls*** excuses. As in, it would just be tossed in the trash. To each their own, moving on.....

I had something along these lines happen to me about a year ago with Nordstrom, where I received a wrapped-in-plastic set of 3 TF Willful lipsticks instead of the one I had ordered. I called them and they asked me to return the other two, which I did. Now in the case of Neimans I would make sure my return would be free when I made that phone call, because I wouldn't want to be charged $7.50 for someone else's mistake.
