Just had my first horrible experience with TF at Neiman Marcus today. I am so frustrated and need to vent! I hope it's okay that I do here. My boyfriend doesn't understand makeup frustration, lol! I usually get stellar help from the SAs, and truly look forward to going there and speaking with them. I only get to stop at a TF counter once in a while, so I can't just easily go back. My usual SA wasn't in today, and a new lady was. She watched me like a hawk at the Gorgio Armani counter, and when I stopped to peek at the duos, she approaches me and goes, "you bought the eyeshadow from THERE?" With the utmost judgement in her voice. I was floored. "Yes, I happen to love GA." And, she had the audacity to tell me... "Well clearly you have never heard of TF." I should have walked away then. Yet, I really wanted to swatch so I could buy online since my usual girl was not there. However, I stayed. The SA forced mascara on me, liquid eyeliner on my hand, and didn't let me swatch the duos. She insisted I have them applied on the eyes for a full effect. Okay. Fine. So she does one eye, they're pretty-- but not $60 for a duo. I said I'd rather look at the Quad because I felt like I was getting more quantity for my money. She says, "yes, but these are LE. You'll never get to get them again. You'll be one of the elite. I can already tell you're a makeup snob." Furious, I told her I wasn't interested. She KEPT pushing the product. She also wouldn't even out my eyes. I left with one smokey blue eye and one with just eyeliner!! Mortifying. But it gets better.... I go to the guerlain counter to look at the new blus/bronzer duo. The lady was a sweetheart. I loved the guerlain duo and bought one. While i was sitting there-- the TF SA comes over (across the store, mind you) and goes "hmph! I just did her makeup!" And stormed away... As if to warn the SA that I get my makeup "done" and don't purchase. Little did she know, I have spent lots of money with this specific Guerlain SA. I pointed out the fact that she only did one eye, and swatched stuff all over my hand without offering to clean it. The Guerlain SA was so kind, I will definitely call and leave glowing compliments about her (when I call to complain about the TF lady.) She felt bad for me, and did her best to even them out. She came really, really, close. I will be staying far, far, away from that TF counter unless my usual lady is there. And I will damn well let my usual SA know about how uncomfortable the new employee made me feel, and also complain to CS. I have never been so upset that I've wanted to call and complain. I should call Neiman's, right? Not TF?
