Okay! Long post time.
I arrived at neiman's and my usual SA was there for our 11:30 appointment. She was super sweet (as always) and asked me about what happened with the other lady. Apparently, she had only heard I had a bad experience, and not to the detail of it. I told her a really brief overview-- and she was shocked. So, she asked me what I wanted to look at for my makeover. I said I never got to properly look at the spring duos. Gosh, they're so pretty and complex in person! I loved the green one the most when swatched, but it didn't look so great on my fair skin / blue eyes. She was wonderful and showed me 4 different looks, one look with each quad, and then a look with how I can mix/match them with colors from the permanent line. I ended up loving Ripe Plum-- I can see a lot of use out of it. Dry for a subtle work appropriate look, and then go back with a damp brush at night to add some drama. Hehe. I had already walked in with primer and foundation on. I'm glad I did, their lightest shade of the traceless foundation was too dark for me. Phew! After picking what eye look I liked the best, she did a full face to match. We did a bit of bronzer, blush, lipstick/gloss, etc. etc. We chatter a lot while she did my makeup, and I never felt like she was rushing to get it over with. The finished look was this: TF Ripe Plum duo, the lighter shade dry all over lid, then darker shade dry in outer V / crease, back in with the lighter shade wet to intensify. She used the eye liner in Bruise on top and bottom, and went over it with the plum shade of the duo to smoke it out a bit. She finished it with the purple mascara-- which was a surprise love for me! I had to have it. She used their Terra bronzer (I think it's called that?), frantic pink blush, a pretty liquid highlighter that I forgot the name of lol, Pink dusk lipstick and chastity lip shine dabbed in the center of my lips. She also added some of their concealer under my eyes to brighten that area. After the look, she did it all on a face chart for me to take home to remember exactly how she did the look! Which was very kind of her. I've never had someone do that before after putting a whole eye look on me. I have frantic pink and the lip products, so I ended up buying the plum duo and purple mascara. I have plenty of purple liners to dupe "bruised". She threw in a deluxe sized sample of their primer, since I didn't get to try it under my foundation.
She walked me around all the other counters I wanted to see, and introduced me to the SAs. It was really nice. I got some of their cards. I also picked up another of Guerlain's new healthy glow duos in 00 Clair. After picking the few things I was going to buy, she went to the back and came back with two tote bags stuffed with samples and other things. I (still) haven't had a chance to go through it all, I'm rushing out the door after this post to go out with the Boyfriend. She also threw in a TON of fragrance samples for both myself and my boyfriend. He'll appreciate that.
The two totes are cute, one is the green version of the promo they were running a few weeks back, and one was a purple tote that I can't recall seeing from my emails. It was cute because I live on a street called "Purple Sage" and so she saw that on my file before going to the back room. When she came back said, "Look.. Purple and sage!" and held up the two totes.
I forgot to ask if I could pre-order the summer stuff, because I was already dropping a bit of money on the few products I did get. However, she said as soon as it comes in, she'll text me pictures and give me a call (or email) to see if I want anything pulled for me before it goes on counters! Great for me, terrible for my wallet-- haha! She said she can't wait for the summer collection because it's so awesome, and to expect it around late april, early may.
It was a wonderful experience, and I'm very happy with the way it went!!
