Im not a fan of drugstore makeup myself- but there are often hidden gems if you take the time to compare ingredient lists and so on! If you are to pick up any of them I would suggest the copper and bronzey color. Check this out NA http://www.colormeloud.com/2014/11/max-factor-excess-shimmer-15-pink-opal.html
Wow just seen this they look so close the bronze one But suppose you can't best tom ford against max factor but for a cheap alternative I may try this :) thank you if I can ever get to my local boots which is very little but does max factor I think jist a little shelf lol and a big Coll of number 7 Thanks for heads up

Also I've heard that Max Factor Excess Cream Shimmer in the UK has the exact same formulation as TF cream shadows for much much less- I wish I could find these here
It's not the exact same formulation. The Max Factor shadows have a much lighter, airier feel and they go on much sheerer. You need quite a bit of product to get an opaque or near opaque result, whereas the tiniest dab of the TF shadows is enough for both lids. Bronze is more opaque than the other available shades, but still nowhere near as opaque as TF's shadows.

I really like the Max Factor shadows, they make a great base (Pearl makes TF's Raw Jade really pop) and are good for when you want a sheer wash of colour, but other than the way they look in the packaging I don't find many similarities. They remind me more of a liquid version of Chanel's Illusion D'ombre's. They've got that moussy texture and a similar type of shimmer.

I guess that makes sense considering the single cream shadows are $42, but if I just think about the cream duos being $60 ..... I think they're ridiculously overpriced.
I agree. That's why decided not to buy them, especially since the powder eyeshadow is just pressed glitter - I don't like these at all, I've never used the one from Unabashed. I'm going to wait for the CT cream eyeshadows, which look very similar.
I must have missed something in the conversation. Are we talking about the new duos? If so, then I'm definitely skipping.

Yes, judging by the swatches and the descriptions, they're the same as the middle shade in the Unabashed palette, there's also this glitter shade in some of his quads (and CT's "pop" shade). IMO, this is just pressed glitter. I only have Unabashed but I can't make this eyeshadow work at all, I swatched it again last night and it looked like I've put some loose fine glitter on my hand. It will probably look better, if I apply it with a damp brush but I wouldn't touch a finished look with a damp brush just to add some sparkle.

I sometimes use the glitter shade in his quads to add just the smallest touch of sparkle right above my iris. It even works with just my finger. It's not that I think they're so terrible just not overly useful to me on an everyday basis and I certainly wouldn't miss it if it wasn't included. Since he keeps including these in his quads someone must love them though, right?

Of course! I've noticed they are different though - the one in Cognac Sable is gorgeous, whereas the one in Silvered Topaz would be useless for me.
I'll definitely swatch them, when they come out, but I won't pay extra for a shade I won't use (considering there are only 2 of them).

Yep, that's the issue for me too. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts when you swatch them because I have no choice but to order online.

My SA said she swatched everything & she felt that only the blue es top part made it over the top too much. She said the other shades especially the bronze & peachy shade were not that bad at all.

I'm not over the moon for them but it's more like shimmer than big chunky glitter---I call it adult glitter, because if applied judiciously as you described it actually looks pretty.
It passed the husband test for me and that's all I needed. It can be very tasteful, and dare I say----chic. I would never have worn it in my professional life but it suits my
stay-at-home-lifestyle quite well.

Checking in for the first time in what seems like decades- but I know it's more like 10 days. I haven't been thinking about beauty much.

I will say that I take every nasty thing I ever said about Nude Dip back. It became my saving grace. When you're sleeping in an ICU waiting room, Nude Dip, the foundation stick, a dab of waterproof eyeliner on the upper lash line, and waterproof mascara is all you can manage. I still managed to look decent under the circumstances. (FYI, By Terry Baume de Rose is a must-have in that situation since hospitals are so dry.)

So good to see you back Starletta, and I'm deeply sorry about the circumstance you had to deal with.

Welp, looks like I'll be skipping everything then. My SA waiting to long to loop back around with me. She gave me too long to think about it!
