Thank you! I'm pretty late to the liner party, so I only own In Anticipation, which I've never used, and I picked up Soar last week. Still need to find out how certain liners influence the color of a lippie.
I wanted Whirl l/s to look like when I'm wearing Soar + Faux, which is a little weird because I do already own them, so why look for a dupe, but you get what I mean I guess, lol.
A little off topic, but I lovelovelove Soar so far! I wore the soar/Faux combo last night and it survived an evening of food and drinks, so effortless! If I had not removed my makeup coming home, I guess It would still be on my lips this morning. So I'm excited to try some more liners!

I just picked up KVD Cathedral and it is a beautiful 90's inspired matte rosy brown... I'm wondering how it compares to Whirl... I swatched the coveted Lolita and its orangey tone wasn't very flattering against my skin... I'm hoping Whirl is WOC friendly because I just didn't see it for Lolita in lipstick form

I wore Whirl today, it's really brown on me.

I have on colourpop Spoon as a highlighter it's so pretty and I'm wearing matte bronze and crisp whites from wash and dry.

IMHO there not close DG is lighter a brighter lavender/lilac & MLM is more muted darker... I actually prefer Lavender Jade over both..lol will post swatches ASAP....HTH

Thank you Bree! Swatches would be great I still have time as it's not released for a while in the UK so I am still deciding. I just don't like the stain Dodgy Girl leaves behind- it turns my lips bright pink!! From the swatches I have seen so far MLM is stunning. Just hope it doesn't stain!

It's me again, lolol, reporting back. I wore (am wearing) "Whirl" today and it's like an orange-tinged cinnamon brown on me LOL. If there's any pink in there it's suuuper subtle. With that being said, it's very unique to my collection and I still think it looks pretty on. My mom isn't too crazy about it though LOL. She said I could have hers (that I bought for her) and I was like "But I don't even like it  enough to have a backup. Just put a liner with it!"   On another note, "Antique Velvet" is looking gorgeous. ._.

Awwwww.....that sucks. Yesterday, at Nordstroms the MA had on Whirl. It also looked more cinnamon brown. I thought she had on Persistence because I didn't see any pink. I could've sworn Whirl lip liner was more of a mauvey color. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Whirl leans more mauvey on me. I just bought a matte cinnamon brown lipstick; glad it was so inexpensive because I don't really like it.

My lippies finally came an hour ago! I got four so far - definitely heading in store to swatch a few more.  Here are pics I am going to post on my makeup instagram. I use Mac's Studio Fix in C4 for skin reference.  RiRiBoy and MLM are so close - same with D for Danger and Heaux.

Exactly! I ordered it - my first MAC order in probably 2 YEARS - for exactly that reason!!!

It's an incredibly dumb oversight on their part. Everyone should send theirs back & ask Mac to please make the right shade of Whirl.

I am already planning on sending whirl back if it is brown on me or looks brown in the tube. I will stick with whirl pencil which I really like. I could tweek it to make it more mauve, but I don't want to deal with that.

I called them and mine had just shipped and they said they will reroute it back to themselves. That way it won't go to waste. Hopefully they'll be successful, if not I'll try to catch the UPS guy and refuse the package. I think as long as you don't open it you can drop it off at a UPS location as refused too. I am going to e-mail them and explain why as well.
