I wrote to MAC using their on-site contact form and described specific problems i am having with the new site. If more people complain - and be specific about what is not working - they may do some re-designing.

Most computer pros have MASSIVELY HUGE monitors and often ignore how sites look to ordinary users. So let them hear from us users!

Frankly, so what for a $10 discount on $50 and a crappy free sample when the site is soooooo wretched!

The old site was dull and boring, but at least it was easy to find stuff.

The new site is way too visually busy - it isn't just that it's new to us, the design is not good. The opening screen should be MUCH simpler, and allow the user to decide where to go. Instead it throws everything at us all at once.

Patooey.

I just chatted with MAC CS and they stated that the GOODBYES and Filters are in the works of being added back..... I also mentioned how busy the site was and that they should send out a user survey to catalog and address some of the functional issues. we'll see where that goes.

So I received the email that my order had shipped. There was no tracking# in the email so I clicked the TRACK box and it took me to the horrible new mac site, I had to sign in to see the order and there was no tracking# there either and nothing more to click on.

How was any of this supposed to be an improvement? How was this supposed to be helpful or pleasant to customers? What can they possibly think is good about this?

I just visited the MAC website and now the front page - which is still massive and HUGE and you have to scroll everywhere - has a lot of black on it. As if that is the solution to the launch fail.

I have the same problem. The track box is only taking me back to my email.

I was happy to get the discount because I NEVER have gotten one from MAC. But I agree about the site. Too busy, not intuitive to navigate, and the lack of Search filtering is terrible. There didn't seem to be any UX done by whomever designed it. I've worked in tech support for many years and I always tell the "higher ups" to think like a user with very little knowledge would think. Make it easy for them. I suspect many people will be too frustrated to spend a lot of time searching through everything on the Home page. Personally I will just go straight to the menus. Text menus are always my go-to, I don't know why so many companies seem to be going away from them.

I am way too happy about the discount. I keep adding and taking away from my cart. Currently have both MIB beauty powders, the new PLW foundation, two lipsticks, and the 15 pan warm neutral palette.... HALP

Oh, did anyone else notice on the new site that sold out stuff has an add to cart button? And it doesn't tell you until you go to check out that it's out of stock. What kind of crap mind game is that? I am dreading the next launch. :(
I saw it when I clicked on the product.. its all the way to far right before you checkout
I noticed that some things say Sold Out to the right, but things that are just Out of Stock will let you order them, but I got a message saying it will ship when it comes in stock. I went a bit overboard with the coupon. I had a few things picked out and afterward I noticed that Le Disco had launched. I wanted to pay with PayPal but it kept saying it couldn't connect. Sadly this is typical of most launch day experiences I've worked on. It's like they just want to get it out there and fix everything later.

The lack of search filtering drove me insane. Then last night, I was actually able to search for a particular shade of lipstick and it went directly to it. I still can't figure out how to filter for lipstick finishes

Anyone in Canada who is disappointed that we don't get the discount the Bay is offering $10 or $75 this weekend on cosmetics and fragrances. And, don't forget free shipping on orders over $29.

Awesome. Thanks. Now that they carry MAC online I might be using them more often than mac's site. Especially with bay points and Ebates is offering 5% cash back right now.

I thought you had to have the Bay credit card to get the free shipping on $29 cosmetics order? :(
