Rules of eBay and makeup. If it sounds too good to be true, it is a fake. eBay for makeup is the black market. We all know this. You must read the negative reviews and see what the seller's response is. I never go with a seller that has less then 98% good reviews. You can't make everyone happy, but the seller's with 85% bad reviews not a good idea. Also see how many reviews they have. As well as is eBay pretty much their full time job? Or is one of use getting rid of what was I on when I purchased this????

Also I found out the sellers on Amazon that are not brick and mortar stores like Amazon better, since their payout to Amazon is less then it is eBay. I avoid Amazon private sellers.
Yeah, that's good advise. I sell some make up on eBay and often a lot cheaper than rrp because people are looking for bargains, but those are all my own unwanted stuff / backups I got and realise I didn't need after all. So not everything is fake on eBay, but you do have to be very careful.

Also I trie to avoid Asian and Russian sellers (please take no offense) because those countries do not have the same counterfeit laws versus here in Canada and in the states.

as i continue my journey to research guerlain before my first major purchase...has anyone tried the meteorites compact? i hear alot of the BALLS but wondering if there's a difference or merely a preferance? im thinkin the compact is mainly for traveling i suppose but wanted to make sure the effects are the same....
I have several meteorites voyage compact (All LE), and I use them more as highlighter then powder all over the face. I think it is more versatile then the meteorite, by using different brushes you have different effect.

The "if it sounds too good to be true, it is not true" is THE rule of thumb on eBay, whether it's about cosmetics or anything else. Unfortunately, sometimes eBay is the only way to get certain products in certain geographic areas. Also whether it's about cosmetics or about something else. I don't understand why they sometimes limit certain products to certain areas, especially if "everyone" wants them. I can understand that sometimes it's too costly to do a "roll-out" to every counter/ store, but that's why the internet exists. At least sell it through your own website and ship everywhere. Estée Lauder Coureges (sp?) makeup collection never made it to the stores here, but they sold it online. Same with teh Aerin perfumes (and I hope the Aerin makeup will follow). Well, in case of Guerlain: my brother has a new BF and he is from France, meaning *I* have now a French address I can get my Guerlain-French-Webstore products sent to! Idem for Dior etc. Let's hope it lasts a bit so I can (ab)use of the address for a while, lol!

I just caught up with this thread and I want to share my opinion on the "younger crowd" discussion. I'll be 22 next week and considering Guerlain's prices, I assume I'm the young audience they want to appeal too. With that being said, I would never buy the bronzers with the plastic covers or any of their latest weirdly packaged products (including the Crazy Paris collection). If I want to buy something with fun packaging but with (mostly) good quality, I'll go to MAC. If they were to launch these particular bronzers, I'd be all over them. But I'm expecting much more from Guerlain, these bronzers with their logo look just cheap and tacky and I can't accept that from a high end brand.

On another note, I tried the new bronzer yesterday and I really liked it!

I understand that certain brands exist to promote that exclusive lifestyle but I wholeheartedly agree with your first two paragraphs. Congrats on the new "French Connection" and all the best for the new couple.

Is it to increase sales by appealing to a younger demographic with a particular income? It may alienate those who are drawn to the brand because of its classic style. I see (peripherally) fb posts with people bashing Estée Lauder for something similar but there is so much stigma with the Kardashian/Jenner connection I wasn't sure what the real issue was.

Is that a Russian Blue cat? If so, I consign the high maintenance and spoiled. My Russian blue baby, Greyson, is my 3rd boob. Lol. ETA: I should probably read the entire thread before commenting. Oops!
Sorry i didn't mean anything bad  and my cat was a big Miss. Spoiled and high maintenance. And she had big attitude and was very feisty

I would use her again for something I couldn't get here, but it wasn't any discount, it was very close to original price.
Both of my Ebay experiences were positive.

I don't know what's wrong with me! All I was doing was googling highlighters last night while battling insomnia and the next thing I knew, I ran into Cruel Gardenia. Then, I must have been delirious bc it's now on it's way to me via eBay. I had a $10 coupon code that was expiring tonight, so There's my justification for paying $90 for a highlighter. I guess it's not TOO bad considering it's only $18 over sticker price. I'm so excited I have butterflies. First the rainbow balls, now this. Anyone have cruel gardenia?

Thank you! Can't wait to get it.
I have Cruel Gardenia! It's very, very beautiful. Perfect pinky shimmer. I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks, Elana. So happy you love it! All the reviews I read on it were glowing and positive. The swatches are all so beautiful, so I can't wait to try it out. Thanks for your feedback

Hahaha, this has happened to me before too! I also have CG and it's gorgeous. It is a beautiful pink highlighter, not sparkly at all, just gives a beautiful glow. Enjoy!
Thank you! I'm so glad to hear you love it. I just love that it has a pink tone to it, very unique to most highlighters! Look forward to trying it!

Although I hate destroying that beautiful pattern, this is one of my favourite highlighters. I use it under my brow and in the inner corners of my eyes as well as on my cheeks. Not sure I'm supposed to be doing that, but it looks phenomenal.

As I attempting to do my makeup this morning in the dark, with a flashlight, and a small mirror, I could not figure out why the blush balls had a streak of pink going on. One of the balls got stuck in the bristles.....ugh.
